I started WeightWatchers back in July (and have lost 2st 8lb so far)

    That's fantastic.
I startd in last January and have lost 2st 9lbs so you have done really well.
I find the results are enough to motivate me.
Buying smaller clothes and things that look good is a real motivation !!

I think you have to use all the tools available to you, whatever it takes to suceed.
I find my class really helpful but I also keep a horrible "before" picture at work which is motivating.
I also have a graph in an excel spreadsheet which shows a general downward trend (with a few blips).

Can anyone suggest anything quick I can get for lunch on an original day? I didn't get time to make my lunch last night or this morning, so it's going to have to be something from M&S or Co-op. I haven't used any HEs yet today, but I do need to save a HEB for dinner? I HATE original lunches! They always flummox me!!!

wow she looks fantastic now! that gives me motivation to carry on! well im still being very good with watching what i put in my mouth :D im finding it much easier now i have given up work and have time to plan what im going to cook each day and have the time to chop veggies etc. my portion sizes have virtually halved and im eating much more fruit and drinking lots more water. the tesco`s flavoured water is delish and i now always have a bottle at hand :j im sick of being "big" i always have been even since school  this healthy eating takes alot of willpower and you do have to think twice before you pick things up and scoff them...i now realise that and have changed my whole outlook to eating for the better and now hopefully it is a permanant lifestyle change which i will benefit from for years to come. i remember sitting looking at my belly years ago thinking if only i could slice that off with a knife :o and getting even more depressed and running straight for more comfort food afterwards making things even worse  ho hum only another 10 stone to lose _pale_ ...but i will get there
proper prior planning prevents !!!!!! poor performance! :p

Thanks consultant and katiepc it's great to know that help is so close at hand with good advice :T

It's not often that I have these cravings but when they do they come BIGTIME so hopefully it's over and done with for a while. You were right about promising yourself a treat later as I find that by then the urge has gone.

So now I've set my next target to lose a further 7lbs by 5/3 ie an average of 1.4lbs per WI, this should give me an added incentive.
I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

Hi Katiep - I find lunches much harder on original days too. If it's not too late, you could get some very low fat cottage cheese, wafer thin ham and cherry tomatoes. (Which is exactly what I'm eating at the moment! :D)

Too late for today - I ended up with a ham salad sandwich. Thanks for that though, I'll keep it in mind for the future - such a simple idea and I never thought of it! I LOVE cottage cheese - I eat one of the big tubs from tescos in one sitting!

Nice one! :) My friend has lost 5.5 stone since Nov 2005! Because I hadn't seen her from November until July (when she had 4.5st off), it was a huge shock, but motivated me into doing something, now that I can see that it is possible. And I can hardly believe I'm just starting to fit into size 14 jeans now, after being a size 20! :D So yeah, the results really do motivate you!

That's a really good idea, to have a graph in Excel tracking the loss... I might just go do that now!!! :)
  • Hello all :hello:

I have been away for the last couple of weeks - things been very hectic at work and done loads of socializing so haven't had time (or interest) in weight loss - oops! However yesterday booked flights to Dublin for a few days in three weeks time () and thought it would be really nice to buy a few things for the trip, and how nice it would be to look a bit better in them! :rotfl:

So, read loads of inspirational posts yesterday :T :T :T and felt fully motivated to go to the gym. Come home time I really didn't want to, especially as I had to walk home first to get my gear and a quick snack... then I cut my foot open on some glass, but I knew that whatever the excuse, I could not not go!

So I did - first time in absolutely ages! :j :j Had a stir fry for supper and then went to bed as I could feel myself getting hungry again. This morning weighed myself to see how much damage had been done recently (many Papa Johns cos they stuck loads of vouchers through our door :o ) - at same weight as when started my weight loss plan, so gained back the two I lost - not too bad! Now I promise to be r e a l l y good and really kick start my metabolism, to see if I can't lose loads before my break! :j :j :j :j

Also got into the Met police, and start training either March/April, so added incentive to get fit!

My aim in the next three weeks is to try and get to the gym at least twice a week (hopefully three) and also swim at least once a week (I have three free swim vouchers so this should work out quite nicely!). Longer term aim remains the same - get to about 10 stone, but also would like to be reasonably fit by the time I start Met training - or at least fit enough to not embarass myself in the group bleep tests! Right off to investigate Slimfast as SW failed miserably for me...

Finally WELL DONE to all the fantastic losses! :T :T :T :T This must be the only thread which is shrinking, despite increasing popularity! And congrats also to maintainers - at least it's the right direction! And (this really is finally) good luck to all those heading to the gym tonight - just think of how much better (and smug) you'll feel tomorrow ... :D
