it's so great to see all the new guys who were so down lasgt week and wondering if they could do it posting these fantastic weight losses. It's really inspiring me to get my act back together! I managed a loss of 0.6kg this week which i'm fairly pleased with given that I only stayed in my syns 2 days of the 7! it's quite a relief to g3t back into the discipline of eating properly actually. I bought the current SW mag this week and there are some gorgeous recipes in there that I'm really looking forward to trying. Well done everyone, and thanks for doing the weight loss chart lois, it's getting so big now that it must a task and a half! PS typing this in the gym. and even better, actually did a workout and didn't just use the internet!0

Slightly off topic I know but I am using my slow cooker today to make a veg casserole (of sorts) - free on SW so partly relevant lol Anyway - I added a pint of stock and a tin of tomatoes as liquid and although its still a while to go its very runny - will it thicken up
If it works and tasted nice I will post recipe on Recipe collection!!
Possibly try tomato poaste which isnt free but very 'low' and also if its veg try chick peas but masha few upa bit (timed ones, they don't take two hours to cook) and the mashed ones will help thicken the stew0 -
Thank you rite case, and welcome not only to MSE but to the one of the busiest threads at the minute!! I added a tsp cornflour to thicken and have removed it from slow clooker onto the hob.I think I added too much stock. It looks and smells lovely and apart from the stock and now cornflour it is syn free!
Just got to get the hang of this slow cooker lark!
Are you on a lose weight battle too rite-case?0 -

Hi Honey - sorry, probably a bit late now, but I'd thicken it with cornflour, which I believe is 1.5 syns per level tbsp. If you mix the cornflour with a little cold water first, then use a ladle to remove some of the liquid from the casserole and add it to the cornflour, stir it and then stir it back into the casserole. Turn the slowcooker up to high for 10 minutes or so to cook the cornflour.
Let us know how it turned out!

Hi Plum Pie - anyone is welcome to post here, regardless of whether you're following a plan or just trying to eat healthily, we all have one thing in common which is to lose weight.

Hi All
Week one for me and I have lost 2lbs!
well chuffed as I really want to lose weight at that steady weight so I can avoid my usual downfall of dieting too much then being disapointed and comfort eating.
