petrichor wrote:Hi :hello:
Today marks the end of my first full week on this diet and things seem to be going well, I will be weighing myself first thing in the morning and although I have had a great week I'm apprehensive about it. I made a roast chicken dinner today and had 3 slices of meat, jacket potato, a tablespoonspoon of mashed roasted vegetables(onion, carrot and sweet potato sprayed with Frylight), spring green and gravy and for dessert two scoops of vanilla ice cream, but I feel bloated and heavy  Why?
ps does anyone else have these feelings even when you know you've been good throughout the week?
If you're having far more carbs than you've been used to t can have the effect of making you retain more water. This feeling should pass withing the first couple of weeks. One of the best ways to get rid of retained fluid is to drink lots and lots of water. It has the added advantage of helping your skin and giving your kidneys and liver a bit of a 'flush'!!
Hope you do well with the weigh-in, but it's not the be-all and end-all. I hope you've measured yourself too, since there can often be a decrease in inches even when there's no decrease in lbs. Also, be assured that you're doing all you can to get fitter and healthier.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
didn't manage the gym this weekend as intended but played, basketball with DD today - 1/2 hr of running round trying to shoot hoops & i was good for nothing
told her i was too tired & had to go in & cheeky so & so told me that exercise was good for fat people
not sure i'm looking fwd to weigh in tomorrow, keep reminding myself that not a diet & 1/2 lb or 1 lb would be fab. promblem is not been too good this weekendcould have been far worse (like lots of other people this weekend) but could also have been much better :rotfl: have enjoyed it though!!!

Hi everyone went to sw on wednesdsay and i lost another half pound i thought i was gonna lose more but its a loss and not a gain, i've been trying to drink more water im drinking alot more than what i did before so its a start.
Also i make a broccoli and pasta bake but it uses creme fraiche which is like 1.5 syns per tbsp and the recipe needs 200g of it, what would make a better substitute quark or natural fromage frais, if anyone could help it would be much appreciated.
Thanx

Morning, well it all went horribly wrong on the lager front.I still need to work out how many I had but I know it was well over the allowance. Watching the Toon beat Spurs just wouldn't have been the same without a pint (or 5).
Anyway I seem to have got away with it and have lost 2lb.I will be down the gym at lunchtime to work off the excesses of yesterday.0 -
Morning all
Edimew 5 would be bad but if you team win there is nothing like it. I support Pompey myself and we got an OK result at the weekend. Still think I am dreaming when I see them up so high.
I had 1 glass of wine last night eventhough DH opened a whole bottle. First time I have resisted so felt good. 5 so far only 2 left for the next 4 days.
Lois were you good or bad on the wine front? I am now 11.10 so lost 2lb which I feel so happy about.
Anyway must go need to do some work today seriously.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Suggs, you will be fine, so don't worry about today.RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.
