I'm the same Lois, I have been 100% all week, have had a few treats but I've written them down and counted them into my syn allowance, never going over 15 syns a day. Eaten loads of fruit, about 10 times more than normal, taking fruit salads etc to work to nibble on and munching on bananas and mandarin oranges when I've felt the need to eat something. I've also drank loads of water/low cal squash - honestly I've been so good. Jumped on the scales for a sneaky weigh in this morning - the result - a bl00dy gain  Feel like crying

Hello everybody. So many new ones! This way, this is going to become one of the most popular threads! It took me ages to read the several pages that have been filled since last Saturday.
I had a lovely time in Nice - it's an interesting place with wonderful views of the sea, and the weather was excellent - sunny all the time! I visited Monaco and Cannes as well; they are nice; Cannes has got a lot of shops (with very expensive clothes) and Monaco is quiet and sunny and has some really interesting spots, and the most amazing railway station I've ever seen (think vertical). Still, I prefer Nice. More interesting, more to do, more to see.
Well, I've got good news from me. I've lost FOUR pounds in the last two weeks - I can hardly believe it, after so much maintaining and rollercoasting. It's probably influenced by the sickness last week... but hopefully I won't regain all of it next.
Also it seems I'm going to join a gym next - to try and fall ill less often, and in the process it'll help me with my weight control.'They can tak' oour lives but they cannae tak' oour troousers!'The Nac Mac Feegle0 -

then i feel depressed and want to eat more again.......
That was yesterday and can't be undone so forget it. Hopefully, you will have learned something from it and next time a similar occasion arises, you will be more prepared.
I know it might sound ridiculous, but if you take a bag of chopped carrots, sliced peppers (I agree, these are lovely and fresh) or tiny tomatoes with you next time you go to the cinema, you won't be tempted by the sweets. No-one will see what you're eating in the dark and crunching on carrot sticks is no noisier than eating a bag of crisps :rotfl:
The main thing is not to let the feelings of depression get to you, it will only cause a spiral effect of eating, feeling miserable and eating some more!
Start again from the beginning - Day One today, you'll feel tons better.
*******************************************
I think the same may apply to Shopaholic - forget yesterday, it wasn't good (even though Lois has put a positive spin on it :rotfl: ). Start again, but learn from it what your triggers are (alcohol) and be prepared next time!
The old saying applies: If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!!!
I'll get off my soapbox now (am I becoming a bore?)I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Well its Day One for me today too. I have had about 3 days of sheer abandon (limited by a little pixie on my shoulder instilling guilty feelings in my mind!)
The family have now gone and I have spent the morning cleaning up after them all. It's tidy again now - some you will know I hate mess and I'm a bit of a compulsive cleaner so having people stay quietly drives me bonkers!
Last night we went out for dinner and I ended up having a mushroom melt (mushrooms in a bit of melted stilton on a lump of bread), arrabiata pasta (OK on SW I guess) and about a third of a chocloate icecream thing. Could have been better but by the time we ate I'd had 2 pints of cider but switched to vodka and diet coke and just had 2 more of those. Maybe not as bad as it could have been but could have been loads better!!
I have walked the dog today (only about 30mins) and cleaned the house but I'm really shattered now - my bad week at work and cold have caught up with me and I've completely run out of ooomph. I have sent the OH to get some meat and veg so I can make a stew for dinner - my version doesn't have meat (being a veggie) and its syn free so a kickstart back on to the plan hopefully.
I really want to stay the same or lose something this week (even half a pound is something!) so its religious SW until Wednesday weigh in for me!!
Have a great Sunday

maybe that's a good thing
so 'healthy' option: does that mean i can have loads?:D
:rotfl:
Maybe I should have chosen my words better! What I meant was that you'd opted for a treat that was less unhealthy shall we say, than you could have gone for - but of course should only be eaten in moderation

Back from swimming with my son, played abit and managed 50 lengths (400m) cooking a SW chicken curry. But feeling so down in dumps at the moment.
Really nice to hear you had a good time Madauri, havent been to south of France for many a year always wanted to see the F1 on Monacobut Nice would be nice :rotfl:

Ooh, your holiday sounds very relaxing Madauri, I could do with a bit of that!
We've been out to lunch today (carvery) and, once again, it was lovely. I was going to order the melon starter for my pud, but my mouth asked for strawberry gateau :rotfl: . It was such a tiny sliver though when it arrived, that I didn't feel half as bad as I should have done. Drank only water with it, so it should turn out ok (I think).
Sounds like you've worked off most of the Chinese Suggs. At the end of the day, you have to do something a bit special when you have the children round, and as you say, the main thing is your son was happy! Your weight losses have been so very good in the past that I'm sure you'll still do well despite the weekend. You know, they do say that if you follow a diet strictly for 80% of the time, you will lose weight - don't know how accurate it is, but it sounds reasonable to me.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Evening all
Seems like we are all doing a bit better. Lois you are welcome to join me and Edimew on our 7 a week diet. I had 2 glasses yesterday so I am up to four which means 5 days to go only 3 glasses left so guess no wine for me tonight.
MAudauri my friend goes to Nice every year and really loves it. She is into museums and seeing things and he is one for the beach so it works well for them. Glad you had a good time.
Suggs hope your 1 to 1 goes OK. In my last job we were suspose to have one every 6 months but I only had 3 in the 7 years I was there. However that was local government and you did not have to worry too much. Now I work in the private sector and it is a bit differrent so I can understand your concern. I think you just have to be honest with your boss and hopefully they will be with you. I would rather know immidiately if they are unhappy with me than wait for a formal meeting. Anyway rambling now so good luck
Rachel that dog of yours get a lot of walks. 4 miles that is a lot. Maybe you should take up golf if you like walking. My friend called from the club this morning needing a partner. 15 min later I was dressed and on the tee. Lovely sunny day no wind so really pleasant to play. Signed up for two more games so feel good now.
Booked into Pilates tomorrow and 7pm so hope you do a bit in the gym before then Tuesday will try the Fitball thing at 9 am.

Suggs - don't worry about your meeting this week - I'm sure it won't be as bad as you think.
My stew was yummy - syn free apart from a dumpling - that's all I've had today though - still full from yesterday. Feeling a bit better today - I think its all about feeling in control. The OH is away all week (dropping him off at the airport in an hour) so I'll have no distractiions on the diet thos week. Going to Germany just overnight on Thursday - that's always interesting with food - they don't do veggie!
Will have to be supergood all week as I don't know how to manage when I'm there - at least its just a 36 hour visit.
Off to watch telly for the rest of the evening - take care

Hi :hello:
Today marks the end of my first full week on this diet and things seem to be going well, I will be weighing myself first thing in the morning and although I have had a great week I'm apprehensive about it. I made a roast chicken dinner today and had 3 slices of meat, jacket potato, a tablespoonspoon of mashed roasted vegetables(onion, carrot and sweet potato sprayed with Frylight), spring green and gravy and for dessert two scoops of vanilla ice cream, but I feel bloated and heavy  Why?
I was busy all morning shopping etc and walked quite a distance so it can't be due to lack of exercise it's only since I've had my lunch that this feeling has come on as up to then I felt great. H has just said he'll go for a walk with me now to see if it helps me (the little treasure).
Whilst shopping this weekend I've stocked up with stacks of veg, fruit and all the good stuff that I hadn't realised I'd stopped buying for a while and despite the full trolley it actually came to a lot less at the checkout than I've been paying out over the last few months (years really:D)
I've also bought the Argos slowcooker that everyone on another board is going on about so I'm going to make some no-point soup overnight to try it out - and will come in handy for tomorrow.
So I'm trying hard and should be feeling better than I do, but hopefully my walk will help. H has got his coat on so I'm off now.
ps does anyone else have these feelings even when you know you've been good throughout the week?I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latterbut my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!
