    Hi :hello:

Thanks Lois Lane for including me in your list after my posting on Sunday, this seems a nice friendly place to help us through these difficult times of our lives.

I meant to post yesterday but I couldnt find the thread, I was looking under everything else except The 'I Wanna...' thread :o

As promised I weighed myself first thing yesterday morning and despite having a pee, stepping on and off the scales, having a pee, moving the scales around the bathroom floor, trying have another pee, placing first the left foot on the scales followed by the right then vice verse and holding my breath I had to come to the painful conclusion that the weight tables are indeed correct and I must face up to the fact that I am 9" too short :rotfl:

The horrible truth is that I need to lose 30-35lbs. I knew that I had steadily been increasing in weight and despite promises to do something about it I just never seemed to get round to it, there was always next week!!

I still feel bad though as I should know better. Over the years I have been the typical yo-yo dieter and have, on 3 occasions, attained goal weight at WW, usually the weight loss stayed off for some considerable time. The last time I reached goal weight was just over 4 years ago, with the downfall starting 18 months ago after a holiday where the food was great and the wine even greater!! On my return home the weight gain was 7lbs which I thought was acceptable all things considered and would easily be shed, but during last year, even when I was bemoaning the fact that I couldn't get into my shorts and eventually into my sun dresses during the hot weather, I continued to ignore the blatant truth.

So on Sunday (which was Epiphany - how apt) whilst browsing around the boards I found this thread and realised that now was the time and no more procrastinating, that I was not on my own and that there was help and encouragement at my fingertips.

I have decided not to go to WW again as I never followed the points system as I prefer to calorie count, and only went to get weighed, but I think that paying does give an incentive to slim so I've decided to pay my £5 into a jar which I've labelled "My £s for lbs" so that when I attain my goal weight I can treat myself to something special (not food).

Sorry I got a bit maudlin earlier but I feel better having got these things off my chest, it's true what they say about a problem shared etc. etc. I am now going to sort out what I need to change to get me further motivated.

Already you have been a great help and I intend to return the favour, bye for now. oops! sorry mean :coffee:
I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

Alyssa-Mae - I've had a colonoscopy too - not overly pleasant but believe me the day before is much worse! The stuff they make you drink is a super laxative and its like bowel dynamite! Take my advice and stay home, stay near a toilet (no more than the next room seriously) and be prepared to explode! Sorry to be too graphic but I wish someone had told me what it was like when I had one. I lost count on the 20th poo -no exaggeration. I found that using baby wipes instead of toilet paper helped as your bum can't take even the gentlest paper after a while!

The next day is fine and the actual procedure is a doddle in comparison - they usually sedate you a bit and you can't really feel anything - in fact I could hardly remember mine (must be the drugs!!)

Hope it all goes OK for you.

Had a day out of the office today at a meeting in a hotel and its the first uncontrolled day for food for me since I started back on the diet. Was good until lunchtime and then had to have what was served up - the veggie option being a pasta in a creamy sauce. Only had a half portion and a single slice of garlic bread. Resisted all of the cheesecake etc though and had a 100 cal breakfast bar on the train on the way back cos I was starving!

Have a cold coming on and couldn't be bothered with tea when I got back and have just picked at some grapes since I have been home. It's weigh in tomorrow at SW and I'm hoping for some kind of loss - I have been so good this week not one day with more than 10 syns and no bad stuff.

Well done to all those that have lost today! We're doing great sine the New Year.:j

See you tomorrow with the dreaded results
    Rachel.

Good morning - can't sleep, so I got up at 5.15 and decided you were the only ones I could talk to at this hour without getting my head bitten off :)

Welcome to another lot of newbies, it'sgreat to have you all among us, but I can't remember everyones name I'm afraid.

Congratulations on some cracking weight losses (special congrats to Suggs on getting SOYW again). And to reiterate what Honey said, thanks to Lois for all the work you put in on the 2lb loss club, you're a star.

Bride2be don't worry about eating late, unless it interferes with your sleep, it's what you eat over a 24 hour period that counts, and I'm sure HM soup wouldn't matter anyway. It sounds like you're doing really well :T
    When's the wedding?

Mini-Cooper could you perhaps post a typical day's food and drink and we can have a look see where you may be going wrong. Don't despair, it's early days and between us I'm sure we can sort you out :) One thing I would say, don't be leaping on and off the scales all the time - once a week is enough. Your body weight can fluctuate hour by hour, so the most accurate way to find out your losses is to weigh on the same day each week, same time and wearing roughly the same clothes.

Petrichor your post made me chuckle with the weigh in process. My Mum always says she's not overweight, just undertall :rotfl:

Rachel, hope your cold goes away soon:)

Lois I see no reason not to post the SW recipe on this thread, they are available in the books which anyone can buy (and it doesn't say anything about copyright in the books). Oh, and thanks for the vote of confidence (blush) :o

The new 30 minute cookbook has some brilliant recipes in, well worth the money I think, specially as it's a saving of £6 on the shop price :money:

I made a bowl of mousse yesterday and it was absolutely gorgeous. I intended it to last for today as well, but sadly it didn't, so I may just have to make another one today (and all for just 2 syns) yum!!
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
