Oh dear had a very naughty weekend - parties Fri and Saturday with lots of yummy food, and stayed at my mums which meant helping her out with her left over Christmas food!
However as both parties ran out of red wine (who knows what happened to my bottles!) I at least didn't drink much - probably only 3 glasses in total, plus a half of some gorgeous Belgian beer for Sat lunch
So weighed myself last night and this morning, and have gained another pound, making a total gain of 6 lbs over Christmas
(despite stepping on eversolighltlyandgazellelike - thanks for that phrase Petrichor)
Great advice LL about not weighing every day - not only gets me down with minor fluctuations, not very healthy - as a size 10/12 teenager I weighed myself every time I went to the bathroom without fail, and developed a very unhealthy idea of myself. So have resolved to try hardest not to weigh myself til next week - just so tempting!
Have also decided to have a very healthy week - ham salad for lunch and soup, bread and veg for supper - OH out every evening so should hopefully be easy enough to stick to, however it's 9am and I'm already starving! :rotfl:
My motivation is that my new size 14 trousers are sticking into me - refuse to buy bigger - my next pair WILL be a size 12! :cool:If you don't have anything nice (or constructive) to say... DON'T SAY IT!0 -

Morning all - just a quick post as I'm supposed to be working
I'm pleased to report that I lost 5lbsso I'm back at the weight I was before Christmas. Now I've got a quandary though - do I take that off my target for 5th February, or should that start from today? What do you all think - and for those who were in the club before Christmas, do you intend to lose your Christmas gain as well as 7lbs by 5th Feb?

I lost 4lbs this week:j :j:j
So that is exactly one stone off since I joined this forum. BMI in now 27.6:j
Thanks for all the support and to all all those who post here as it is a great motivator when I feel like eating something I shouldn't. Yesterday was really bad, but like dellybelly, I watched The Diet Doctors and when the urges got really bad I did what someone here suggested (consultant?) and did a manicure and then I had to do a pedicure:D By the time I finished that lot the bad food (go to the shop) urges, had gone. I kept to the WW No Count all week:D
Welcome to all the new people who have joined since I last posted. It's good to see so many people going for it. You will get plenty of support on this forum.RENTING? Thanks for all your suggestions - some useful stuff I hadn't thought of - esp the dog-walking one. I'm not actually that keen on them but will pass the idea on to an animal-loving colleague who muttered something about needing more exercise but not feeling very motivated.
I ate quite a lot of unhealthy food this weekend but also managed to:
-do a big, healthy shop
-plan evening meals for the week
-pin an inspiring message to my kitchen cupboard
-brew and then chill a lot of herbal tea so I have some delicious calorie-free, non-alcoholic drinks for when I get home from work. (I especially like Lidl's rooibos and vanilla tea.)
This morning when I got up I did 20 crunches and 20 press-ups (on my knees - obv!) It woke me right up and afterwards I thought 'Do I want to make unhealthy choices today? NO, I do NOT!'0 -

Well done with that loss Lois.:T
I intend to lose my Christmas weight of 3lb plus 7lb by the 5th Feb, so 6lb to go. If I can eat sensibly and watch the portion sizes, it should be ok.
Can we have another challenage after the 5th Feb, because this challange seems to be keeping me focused?RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

Ohmygod LL and MMP how did you lose all that week in a week?! :T
I'm not used to putting on a lot of weight over Christmas (am 23 and fairly newly married - didn't really understand gorging til I met OH!) - does it usually come off quite quickly or are you two just super fab?! What did you do to kick your metabolism into gear?
Am now very motivated by both of your magnificent examples, and PP you have prompted me into consider doing some exercises - I have a r e a l l y boring job where I basically do nothing, sitting playing on the computer for 12 hours a day (and I have to sit in a security gatehouse for lunch so can't get active then) so could feasibly do some exercises here in the ladies!!! (My floor is and has always since being built been empty so at least I know they're clean as I'm the only one who uses them!) - has any one seen noticeable improvement with stomach crunches or similar, and how many did they do?If you don't have anything nice (or constructive) to say... EmmaBZ, I have a similar goal to you - I'd like to be a size 12 by my birthday at end of Feb again (am right in the middle of a size 14 atm) - are you doing any special diet / exercises to tackle your tum, or still working on general weight loss?If you don't have anything nice (or constructive) to say... DON'T SAY IT!0

Morning all
Dropped the children off last night and then went in the gym for 45 min. Went down to Boots this morning and after my card not working and having to buy a new one :-( I find I lost 7lb Still means I have to lose 3lb to get back to my pre xmas weight, but back on move. I guess most of the weight gain was artifical so losing it just meant getting back on the treadmill
I think it would be not be right to say target reached, but 7lb in 4 weeks is pushing my luck abit. Why not lets go for it. Lois please reset for a 7lb target. Thanks. I am seeing the dietician tomorrow and I am over target which is good.
Well done to MissMoneypenny and to your good self Lois on your losses. TallGirl a maintian is just a loss not recognised :-) still shows your on the right track.
Welcome to all the newbies be it Amfiroda, Mini-Cooper. BeckyM and Midget-Karen and welcome back loopy-loo looking forward to reading your reports soon.
Right back to work for me, hopefully back to the swimming later.Proud Member of the Lose Weight Thread on I Wanna..................

I wish I was "super fab". That 4lb loss this week was my Christmas weight gain gone, plus 1lb and through most of December I couldn't get motivated to eat healthily, so maintained most weeks. I guess my body thought it was starting a diet this week.:D Plus I am 1 and 1/2inches shorter than you and weigh more than you (11st 13lb), so it should come off a bit quicker at the moment for me.RENTING?
