Evening all
I was reading The Times today, and I saw http://www.dailydiettracker.co.uk mentioned. Has anybody heard or used this site? I looks free to join, though Im sure various emails will be hitting the inbox. You can set goal weights, etc.
I am not endorsing this website, just looking for an opinion?

MissMoneypenny wrote:Did anyone watch the BBC diet science programme again tonight? Thank goodness the "drink 2 litres of water a day" is a myth and was taken out of context from the original science data which stated that we need two litres a day, but added that - 'much of that will come from our food'. Drink when you are thrsty being the advice.
MissMP
I didn't see the programme, but whilst I'm sure they're right, it's still really good for you! I rarely feel thirsty (although I'm sure a lot of the time when I'm 'hungry' it is actually confused thirst) so probably usually only have 1-2 glasses a day  When I was a teenager I went through a phase of trying to drink 2litres and after about 5 days noticed a dramatic difference in my facial skin, with 'blemish' scars disappearing and becoming less obvious - I didn't suffer much from spots but when I did, I would be left with a mark for months. Now that I'm trying again to drink more, I'm noticing the same effect - yippee! Also, excess water does help with the appearance of celluite - basically it fills out the flaccid cells making them turgid and so not mottled.
Not to mention it's great benefits of filling you up when you're hungry!
Anyone else seen benefits from increasing their water intake?
In fact I just remembered reading somewhere that by the time you feel thirsty you have actually become dehydrated by a third, and so should try and get your 8 glasses a day in without feeling thirsty... Can't remember where annoyingly but think it was The Times... Upshot is there are always different scientific opinions on everything, based on limited experiments (has anyone else been a bit shocked by the BBC food experiments? hardly scientific!) and different interpretations of the results, so just go with what works for you.If you don't have anything nice (or constructive) to say... :hello: to Claire and welcome to the most supportive forum on MSE! Any questions ask away and someone on here's bound to know the answer, likewise if you're feeling tempted log on quick!!
Angchris DON't BEAT YOURSELF UP!!! At the end of the day, you didn't do too badly - assuming they were oven chips it's not the greatest sin in the world, and much better than reaching for the chocolate! Just put it behind you and start your Day 1. Infact as a pound is equivalent to 3500 cals (  ) if you did go over by 500 cals it's only 1/7 of a pound (whatever that is in grammes) so shouldn't have too much of an effect
I was a bit naughty yesterday - went out for dinner, and I only ate 500 cals during the day in preparation, but I plumped for the baked camembert followed by cheeseburger and chips, all of coure with wine... Was good and didn't have desert, but when I got in OH had bought mini rolls (he's supposed to be on a diet too but he's got a chest infection so can be forgiven for little treats) and I had two!
Then this morning got to work to find I'm out of slimfast smoothies and shakes for breakfast (start at 7am so always drink when I get here) so I had to have a cuppa soup instead! Still less calories - just won't think about the fat content!
Can't face the gym tonight so will have to do loads this weekend to compensateIf you don't have anything nice (or constructive) to say... DON'T SAY IT!0 -

I'm in total agreement with you on this matter, I think a lot of it is cheap television and a lot of the results depend on what they want to find and whoever is sponsoring the show. I don't watch much of these programmes I would rather go by what I read from boards such as this one where we've all been there, got the t-shirt and then promptly grown too big for it again. I cannot manage breakfasts despite being told that it is the one meal that you shouldn't miss, if I do eat it I find I want to eat for the rest of the day feeling constantly hungry like Angchris. I find that it works better for me if I wait until late morning at the earliest.
I'm trying to increase my water intake and will post my findings in due course. Do you just drink plain water or do fruit teas count? (It's rather cold this week)I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latterbut my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

Last year I gave up meat and fish for lent. 40 days with no meat at all . After the first 12 days it was like nothing. I noticed as well that my digestion improved and I had lost a few pounds.
This year I will give up meat once more. Any one want to join? Maybe giving up chocolate or desserts. Lent 2007 begins Feb 21 and finishes April 7th. Even if you aren't religious, just try to give something up. Afterwards you'll realise you can live without it.
By the way keep it up all those who have lost this week. And for those like me who are stuck or rising, just stick with it, you will soon have you moment of triumph as long as we are honest and stick to it.0 -

I love water, it's my fave tipple  lol. Since starting to drink more (around 2litres a day) I've noticed a difference in the amount of headaches I have, whether or not its anything to do with the extra water or maybe the change in diet perhaps?
My skin also feels a lot different, not so tight and dry, especially this time of year when the central heating is on the go.0 -

Afternoon all
Ive been looking at our coolection of lower fat recipes and am on WW so cant wait to try them out.
WW ready meals taste well rather like cardboard would id imagine.
Trouble is I dont know the formula to work out how many points are in my portion of cheaper better tasting home made food
Does anyone please know the maths to it and can let me know
Thanks in advance and any more low point recipes are most welcome
Also just a quickie if your eating tinned fruit it gives 2 weights a new weight inc juice and the drained weight. I dont eat the juice so do I just calculate it on the drained weight and let DH scoff the juice as normal
Thanks again im going to get thin this year!2007 is my getting slim year
Total weight loss so far is 16llbs:T
Total to go 15 pounds:eek:
Not no more as im having a baby:D0
