thanks for the chart, what was the january challenge? xxx

Hi victory, the challenge was to lose 7lb by Feb 5th.

Its mentioned first by RachelMK way back when. Start date was the first Monday in January I think? http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=3852349&postcount=1133

I think Honey is starting a new one for 5lb by the end of Feb? Just let Lois know and she will set the target on the 2lb weight loss chart :)

  • Sorry haven't posted for a while, lost 1lb last week and 1lb this week, bit dis-appointing, but 11lb in total isn't too bad for January. If I can lose 1/2 stone a month, then I can be a super model by January 2008! Seriously though, just to not empty the pool when I jump in at Centreparcs at the end of March would make me happy!

    Hi guys & gals!!

Lois - thanks for adding me to the chart, had better get a move on hadnt I as there's nothing for me at the moment, but its good to see my name up there!!

I like the way you all set yourself mini goals, never quite looked at it like that before (as daft as it sounds!!).

Well, I think my next goal is to get to under 12 stone, so maybe lose 2lbs - and I will be a very happy bunny as havent weighed 11 stone something in yonks!!!! I am off to Melbourne at the end of Feb with work and it would be great to have lost 4lbs by then, but knowing my weight loss record (i.e. working my bum off, eating well & not losing anything, we shall see!!), but I WONT put anything on, thats for sure....

You are all doing well, and I love your attitudes, it is tough, but we can do it together.

BJSailaway - An 11lbs loss for a month is excellent, you shouldnt be unhappy with that!! So well done!!

Had better get back to work, sorry I havent managed to respond to everyone!!

    Have a good day xx
  • mmm spinach and ricotta sausages. Off to add those to my shopping list. I like the bramley apple ones and the lamb ones too. I got a new toy this week - a potato ricer. We've had mash every green day ever since. It's just so fluffy and light! Okay it's a swine to clean, but thats OH's job and it's so satisfying squidging it all through . . . . .

well done to everyone for getting through January!!

So, I quit the gym, and now brought a skipping rope from tesco today, which I am going to do regularly @ home. Also, I have managed to save up a bit and will go to argos tomorrow and buy a bench press and some weights at home.

    Hi Lethal.

I don't know if I am too late, but don't buy new exercise stuff. Look on your local boards in a few weeks time and there will be loads of second hand exercise bits for sale, as in January, people seem to rush and buy equipment to try to get healthy, then they get fed up. The gyms always seem to have a really busy time in January too.

I bought a set of secondhand weights and bench for £20 and and exercise bike for £10. My neighbour was telling me that a friend of hisw was dropping rubbish off at the tip when a man pulled up with loads of exercise equipment to tip. She asked if she could buy if from him but he just gave it all to her.

Also, I paid the council to take away some household objects the other day and they had an exercise bike on there that someone had paid the council £20 to take away! They said they get loads of things like exercise bikes, to collect and take to the tip.

RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

    Hi Lois

Thanks for the chart this week it must take you ages to get everything sorted out for it what with all the lovely newcomers this week (:hello: to all you newbies by the way) so I forgive you for not showing my loss this week of 0.6 of a lb (total loss 7.6lbs). I know it's only a tiny bit but I fought in the face of adversity ;) for it. Jelly Babies in my home can be compulsive little [STRIKE]bug[/STRIKE] critters but they still remain sealed in their box and will stay there!!

Honey - I note your challenge of 5lb off by 5/3, last week in a fit of bravado (aka stupidity) I set myself a target of 7lbs but in view of this weeks dismal performance can I join in with your callenge or will I be classed as a wuzz for copping out?

Happy slimming to all this week

    xxxx
I wish that I could be the oldest AND wisest....sadly it's not the latter :p but my time will come _party_ wooooh hoooh! Beware!!!!!!!

So last night I dug out a tape measure (One of the paper ones C&A used to give away - probably belongs on antique roadshow) and measured all the flabby bits. That was a shocker I can tell you.

Anyway it's all being put in a spreadsheet and charted. I'm also charting my BMI and waist hip ratio (I'm an avocado, apparently).

Together with my weightloss that's 11 different measures. Hopefully at least one of them will go in the right direction each week.

    :hello:

Lois please can I join the chart? I'm going to my first SW class (in years) tomorrow so will post my start weight then. I'll join in the feb challenge too.

Lethal have you though of going to your local car boot sale? I sold our stuff on that. I go to the gym now but more because of back problems. I'll have to up my CV I think.

Edimewnever braved the tape measure before:eek: will follow ( or is that copy?:D) your good example and chart it all tonight.

Love the way everyone supports each other and am sure it will help me:T
