hi has anyone found any top deals for newcastle to london for the end of the month.. even with split-ticketing i'm looking at paying £105 return¬ :S

If you are not fussy about times you should be able to get it for £41.00 each way on advance singles. I suspect you are too late for real bargains.
  • Hi
I want to travel from Heathrow to Leeds on Saturday 11th April, anytime after 10.30am. Everything I find is at least £85 per person. Any suggestions?

Book your ticket from Kings Cross rather than LHR and use the Tube to get to Kings Cross from LHR

Virtually all the services from KX to Leeds are £12.50 through the NXEC website plus £4 for the Tube
  • Split ticketing works quite well on train

    Shrewsbury- aber anytime £13.80
    Wrx-shr- £5.80
    Total £19.60

    Wxm- aber £28.90

These use anytime fares, there are certain cheap fares on these trains, but not enough for all the students like me going back and too :-p

p.s these are adult fares, don’t forget 1/3 off on16-25 railcard

p.p.s USING X94 and X32 ARRIVA BUSES, THIS JOURNEY CAN BE DONE FOR £5, AND ONLY TAKES AROUND 30 MINUTES MORE!!!!!!!
  • Haverfordwest to Edinburgh Waverley
If you buy the whole journey in once it can cost 122.50 Pounds!!!

If you go from Haverfordwest to Crewe and from Crewe to Edinburgh Waverley it can cost you 43.50 Pounds!

So you can save 79 Pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    It's mad, isn't it!

Well it's OK as far as it goes - but it only deals in day return journeys at standard fares. Advance purchase ones and period returns seem too difficult. As are long journeys

Its terminology is dated too - still refers to 'savers'
  • Anyone know a successful split ticketing route for Darlington to London any time next week? It's for a child's ticket and the cheapest I've found so far is £50 off peak return.

The person in question will be travelling at around 8-9am and coming home around 5pm.

    Thanks.

I've been trying in vain to get a train price down for a return from Liverpool to Durham for my brother to come and visit me at university. I'm trying to get it so he arrives any Thursday in March (except for the 27th) and can return on the following day but the cheapest I can get it is £63.50 return which he just can't afford to pay. I've tried split ticketing but no luck :(

    Anyone else have any ideas?

Try split ticketing in Manchester - eg on 20/21 March £11.50 out £16 back is available from Manchester - plus the Liverpool/Mcr fare of course. Maybe do that bit on the coach if necessary but it's a max of £20 on the train
