Does anyone have any tips?
Thanks
Booking in advance is one method.
And/or try split ticketing in Birmingham, or London if you travel that way
megatrain to London might help too - but it doesn't run on Sundays if that's important http://www.megatrain.com/uk/index.php
Or (only joking:rotfl: ) dump him in favour of a more conveniently located model.0 -

Try this;
Warrington Bank Quay to Manchester Piccadilly £6.40 Anytime day single
Manchester Piccadilly to London Euston £1 Mobitix Advance Single
Total £7.40
Make sure you give yourself plenty of time to catch your connection at Manchester to book the Mobitix ticket you need a WAP enabled mobile phone more info and to book can be found here;

I have looked at this journey before, but not had much luck. One of the things I did was to try Birchwood to Euston (obviously via Manchester). This did actually throw up a reasonable ticket! Otherwise the single fares to Manchester from Warrington can be a big part of the fare. This was when there were £10 singles on the Manchester/Euston journey.0

All thee rail websites will have these fares.
Some will show them straight off, others you have to press a button 'single tickets may be cheaper' or words to that effect. Sometimes it's easier to look for each leg separately0 -
I'd like some help with finding the cheapest rail tickets from Bodmin to Edinburgh. We can't take the value fare that involves crossing London because one of us is elderly & infirm and can't cope with the hassle of Paddington to Euston by tube. We want to travel during the day and ideally on the one train that's a through journey. But we would change at Birmingham if necessary. We both have senior rail cards. Many thanks for any help.0
