Book your ticket to "London" rather than "London St Pancras".
Even this weekend you can get a one way fare of £9 for Bournemouth to London - then it's £4 for a one way Tube fare to St Pancras
BUT you might find that getting a taxi for Waterloo to St Pancras is going to be your only option as you only have 45 minutes to get between London stations before check-in closes for Eurostar
Perosnally I'd be looking at going to London the night before as you run a good risk of missing the Eurostar0 -

Yes you're right - £9 single fares are available and not even booking weeks in advance - thank you again0 -
Does anyone know the cheapest return fromPeterborough to Hartlepool on the 7th March and Peterborough to Bristol Parkway on the 21st March?
I presume you're wanting to arrive before 3pm and depart after 5pm for both if you're going to Hartlepool and Bristol to watch football?
For Hartlepool, the cheapest I could find was £33.40 - £11.50 Advance Singles from Peterborough to York and vice-versa, and £10.40 Off-Peak Return from York to Hartlepool. Massive £44.60 saving on the Off-Peak Return price of £78.
As for Bristol, the cheapest I could find was £43.10 total - £8.60 and £12.50 Off-Peak Returns from Peterborough to Oakham and Oakham to Birmingham New Street respectively, then £11 Advance Singles from Birmingham to Bristol Parkway. A more than handy £24.70 saving on the Off-Peak Return price of £67.80.0 -

If you're buying at the station and you're flexible enough to leave Kings X as late as 1850 then your cheapest option is to split at Doncaster:
Dep Kings X 1850, Arr Doncaster 2030
Dep Doncaster 2038, Arr Wakefield 2110
Kings X to Doncaster: £36 Off Peak Single (Only valid on Hull Trains)
Doncaster to Wakefield: £7.20 Anytime Single
COST: £43.20
If 1850 is too late, then your best bet is splitting at Peterborough as well as Doncaster:
Dep Kings X 1807, Arr P'boro 1906.
Dep P'boro 1923, Arr Wakefield 2018.
Kings X to P'boro: £22.90 Off Peak Day Single (Only valid via First Capital Connect)
P'boro to Doncaster: £36 Off Peak Single
Doncaster to Wakefield: £7.20 Anytime Single
COST: £65.90
Hope this helps0 -
Need to get to Peterlee next Tues 27th Jan, so am guessing Durham or Middlesborough stations?
So far the best I'm getting is for about £111.00, but I'm sure there must be a split (York perhaps?) to make this cheaper?
Need to get there for about 3 pm, and won't be able to leave until about 6 pm (mad, I know, but it's for work....)
Vry grateful for any help...0 -
My boyfriend recently moved to Crewe and I am keen to reduce the cost of visiting him.
Does anyone have any tips?
Thanks0 -

If work's paying why worry too much?
http://www.grandcentralrail.co.uk/index2.html could be worth a try though
and Peterborough can be a good place to split0 -
rosiemulhern, If possible then try and buy your tickets well in advance and look for 'Advance' Single tickets.
Other option are a split at one of the following;
Birmingham New St
Wolverhampton
Newport (south wales)Whoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0
