I need to travel during peak times and the current single price is about £108.
Any suggested ticket splits? No railcards.
Is there an app for android?0 -

How often are you travelling? dates, times, only one way?0 -

Try Milton Keynes
Or if you are prepared for a slower journey take the London Midland train to Stoke on Trent and change/split there
You could also check if there are any cheap advances left from St Pancras via Sheffield - they sell out later than direct fares. Still a bit slower though.0 -

Specific dates would get you a much better answer - as would mentioning the return journey at the outset
I'm not going to expand on my answer above - you can do the work0 -
Manchester to Exeter, approx £75 each way, but split at Stoke, Brum, Bristol to end up at £35 approx each way. Same train all the way outbound ; change at Brum (which was necessary anyway) return.0

Split at stoke or crewe might help, depends on the operator - Virgin doesn't yield much by splitting at MK.
Changing at crewe can drive the cost down a long way if you switch to a different operator.0 -

Is this a one-off? If so what specific dates?
If it's regular, can you book in advance?
What time on Monday?0 -
Can make good savings on the weekend between Cambridge and Norwich if prepared to change at Ely (short connection) and pre-book on specific trains.
East Midlands Trains do cheap advanced fairs between Ely and Norwich, and you can then use your Network Railcard to save on the Cambridge to Ely return. I went to Norwich and back for 10.85, whereas a standard CBG-NRW is over £16.0 -
Success! Billericay to Didcot, split at Reading. Off-peak day return without split £36.70
With split £26.80 + £5.80 = £32.60
Maybe there are other good split fares with split at Reading.0
