Further thoughts...
Get a Off Peak Return (with railcard) from Twickenham to Exeter St.D via Honiton. £41.20.
Part of the return trip will be by bus, but its price you are interested in.
Look for suitable Advance Singles from Exeter to Redruth. They are available for £6.00 or £9.45 (or dearer) each way. Buy these from your local staffed station before 6pm the day before travel.
Cheers Keith, will i have to buy these from a staffed station, why is return journey by bus, is this down to engineering works mate0 -

Ask for a Offpeak return from Twickenham to Exeter St. D via Honiton with a Network Railcard (change at Clapham Junc).
Also find suitable Advance Singles for Exeter to Redruth online, then buy those too from the staffed station. Buy these before 6pm Thurs.

Hello I wonder if anyone can help 3 of us are going from Bridgwater or Taunton to London on October 2nd to arrive before noon and returning after 6.30pm on October 3rd.Coach is cheaper at about £20 (one is an OAP) but one of us is so travelsick and now has a broken wrist in plaster this is not an option for her hence the late change in our travel plans. We will go after 9AM to make it off peak. I have tried splitting the journey at Bristol but this doesn't seem to make it cheaper does anyone have any ideas please.
Thank you0 -

Thank you Keith My younger daughter managed to book a return for £24 by split ticketing at short notice. Sorry for not putting the prices I had found. The differance between coach at £20 return and train at £40 ish is huge but looks like it will have to be done. Thank you for your help0

Please tell us where the split was (I don't recognise that station you call 'short notice'), so that we all can learn.
Thanks.

I would imagine Newbury, Westbury or Castle Cary. Bedwyn is where the network area ends on the Reading to Exetre line but a network card would be valid to Exter provided you travel via Salisbury and Honiton (South West Trains).Employee of a National Rail train company.0

But it could also be Bristol, Didcot, Swindon, Bath.
Longer routes can be cheaper.0 -
Egham to Durham
Can anyone suggest a splitting point for this journey?
It usually travels through london onto London Kings Cross, but can go via reading via birmingham. A splitting point for the Durham - Kings Cross would probably be the most useful place.
Thanks!!!!0
