Last year we went to London for the day to do Christmas shopping from Newcastle and it was realy cheap, so I was wondering if they will be doing anything similar this year. A Saturday in either November or December would do.0

I have had a look at Virgin's £9 e-tickets and they only go up to 10th October, which is before I want to travel (want to travel on 11th October and return the next day!) If it helps, I also have a Young Persons Railcard. Can anybody help me!? Thanks
Virgin e-tickets, have up until now anyway, only been available from Mon-Fri. You will need to book "normal" tickets, which appear to be available for £8:60 each way at the moment, using your railcard0 -

Just go to http://www.nationalexpresseastcoast.com/ check what dates they are selling tickets up to then check the Saturdays.0 -
Hi, I neeed to travel from London to Kidderminster preferably on 24th December...any ideas of the cheapest way?
Last year I booked in advance with Virgin and got the tickets for £10 each way, first class, but they don't seem to have similar offers this year :-(
Thanks0 -
I'm looking for a cheap train ticket from Ipswich to Leeds (via Peterborough) for 29th November anytime after 5.30pm. I need to be in Leeds around 10pm-10.30pm so the megabus from London isn't an option and going via London on the train is no good either.
The cheapest is £67 leaving at 5.42pm and arriving in Leeds at 9.49pm. It's £68.60 for a return but a single ticket for my return journey on Monday 1st December is only £9.80! :rolleyes:0 -

You need to wait until Virgin release their cheap fares - it will probably be a few weeks yet.
Also think about Chiltern Trains - they have a walk on fare of £20 return Marylebone to Kidderminster. It does have stringent off peak restrictions, but there's no quota and you can buy on the day.0 -

Managed to get it down to £29.90 by doing it seperately for Ipswich to Peterborough (£17) and Peterborough to Leeds (£12.90). :T0 -
Can anyone help? I'm going Leeds to Liverpool on Saturday returning on Sunday. preferably around 9:30 depart on Saturday and return depart around 16:00 on Sunday. Cheapest train ticket I found is £~27 return. The coach is £12.50, but I'd be willing to go upto £15 for the train.
