Many of you may know about the excellent fares on the Scotrail Sleeper services. But these are often booked up early.
However if you want to take the sleeper to Glasgow and find that the offers have expired, you should consider taking the Fort William sleeper and booking it to Westerton or Bowling.
Westerton is a suburban station in North West Glasgow and has regular local trains to Queen Street and Central. Similarly Bowling is in Clydebank and has many trains into Central Glasgow.0 -
New Megatrain routes are starting as from 14 July 2008. All on the following Virgin West Coast Voyager Trains:
04:58 Manchester Piccadilly - Glasgow Central
08:03 Birmingham New Street - Edinburgh Waverley
11:03 Birmingham New Street - Glasgow Central
21:03 Birmingham New Street - Preston
12:51 Edinburgh Waverley - Birmingham New Street
10:10 Glasgow Central - Birmingham New Street
20:10 Glasgow Central - Manchester Piccadilly
Initially there will be 40 seats on offer on each train per day. Prices will range from £1 to £9, plus 50p booking fee. Passengers can book upto 03:00 the day before departure.
If you go on www.megatrain.com and book for these services for travel on or after 14 July, the tickets should be available, until sold out.[EMAIL="abuse@moneysavingexpert.com?subject=Reporting post http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=11994147"]

Edinburgh to Sheffield
Am having difficulty booking cheap fares in October. Last week I booked this journey for this weekend for £33, with National Express, but the September and October ones are only showing £84 pounds.
Can somebody help please0 -
Hi just new to the forum site.
I'm desperately looking for cheap tickets from Irvine to York leaving on 26th Sept 08 & returning on the 28th Sept 08.
I'm managing to find a good price going to York, but coming back its about £78.00! which there is no way i could afford. dunno if i'm doing something wrong.
I don't even mind split ticketing, if there's anyone out there willing to help i'd be really grateful.
Thanks in anticipation

As your return is on a Sunday, it will be a little longer (maybe a couple of weeks) before the cheap tickets are relaesd0 -

MANY THANKS:beer:
Go to a rail booking site - suggest
http://www.nationalexpresseastcoast.com/
put your journey in.
Alternatively pop into Doncaster station and ask.
If you have a family railcard it will be cheaper - but you will have to pay £24 for the card (may find a half price offer if you hunt around on this forum** - if it's still valid). You don't need the railcard to book (online anyway) but must have it by the time you travel.
** found it http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=10457090 -

I'm looking for the cheapest way to get from London to Manchester. I have had a look at Virgin's £9 e-tickets and they only go up to 10th October, which is before I want to travel (want to travel on 11th October and return the next day!) If it helps, I also have a Young Persons Railcard. Can anybody help me!? Thanks0
