If they're trying to keep costs down and don't mind the idea of hostels, maybe take a look at http://www.hostelbookers.com/ have booked through them a couple of times staying in Prague, St Petersburg and Moscow...no problems at all!

I don't know the exact dates but Expedia have got 3 hotels under £300 total for 5 nights in the central station area, based on 5/9/11.

I would find out what research they have done before you do too much yourself.

    thanks ajaney.

BF is due round tonight, so we will ask, and let them know we're concerned, but not running the show for them.

it seems they were always going to rome.

Sounds to me like a deliberate ploy to distract interferring parents whilst they arrange their own holiday... Maybe she's not as thick as you made out!:D

Seriously, as others have said, at 21 lots of people are living alone and managing finances and bills etc. Arranging 6 days in Dublin (sorry, Rome!) shouldn't be beyond the capabilities of a 21 year old girl AND her boyfriend.

Honestly, people molly-coddle kids way too much these days. I'm only 24, but thankfully my parents weren't so suffocating. They're not irresponsible for disinterested, quite the opposite. But I've been going for holidays and little city breaks with friends since I was 17/18, all arranged and paid for myself. Leave them to it!

this hotel is 4km from the airport and they have a shuttle service i believe. I think the fact its got a pool is good as that gives it a more holiday feel than having to stay in a place just for a bed for the night with no other facilities. x
its £356 b&b, i put in a random date of 8th september for 7 nights so the price is based on that x

I'm curious to know if they intended to book for Dublin but booked for Rome by mistake instead or if they intended to book for Rome, did book for Rome but told you they'd booked for Dublin (for some reason).
