stop with the pushing together of beds!!

its the *cost* of the beds which is troubling me - the idea of a hostel sounds good.

    leave tehm alone? we try

let them sort it out ? who do you thinks gonna get a phone call on day 4 asking for money to pay for this, that or the other?

if they wernt booked ryanair, and had some hope of bringing forward a flight if they do run out of money, maybe, but under the circumstances, we would be neglectful as parents to send them off without offering some assistance.

unless that is what your suggesting. making your own bed is one thing, when they are only down the road....

Try the International Youth Hostel. We use it when staying after concerts/events. You can either opt for dorm room or pay wee bit extra for private room. Bit of a party atmosphere at weekends! Last time we paid 27 euros.

As the other OP says bus is only option (or taxi) from airport into Dublin. There is a bike system once you're in the city which is very handy, decent cycle lanes etc http://www.dublinbikes.ie/All-Stations/Station-map, although everything is within easy reach and the luas too (tram) http://www.luas.ie/. You may be able to get a travel card with discounts that will cover the bus and tram services.

Dublin can be done on a budget!

Hope they enjoy the craic

I don't think she'll ever learn to take responsibility if you keep stepping in and rescuing her. Sit her down and talk about your worries and go over the possibility of her money running out and then leave them to it.

There's plenty of women of that age who have their own families and manage well.

You could always say no? She's 21, honestly at 21 I could book my own holiday, get my own car insurance, take car for its MOT, was renting with friends at uni where I sorted all bills; gas, leccy, internet, TV, phone. If shes booked something she can't afford - tough luck!

Me and My OH have stayed here

location is pretty good, you're on O Connell Street in about 5 minutes, for a one bed appt in early september for 5 nights it's about 369 euros at the moment. There is a fridge, cooker etc so breakfast could be eaten in the apartment to save money, even maybe dinner a few nights of the trip.

The apartments are clean and were fine for us, we weren't in the apartment alot anyway.

We've also stayed in Clontarf Castle, just outside the city centre and I loved it, but think it's a bit out of the budget.
The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.

People!! Why crucify the guy?? doing a nice thing and wants daughter to be safe.

That is the one thing that is wrong with these forums; You ask for help and advice for one thing and get a roasting for another!!
