The one positive take on that is that surely no-one puts in a kitchen that is such an "exclusive" taste thing in a house they intend to sell on in the future. Therefore - they surely never intended to sell this house and must be doing so because they "have" to.
Perhaps people who buy such distinctive things are incapable of seeing that far into the future.
There is always a fine balance to be struck between what one might want and what is sensible. The result, frequently, is a compromise, which might be seen as as acceptable mediocrity by those who are more bold and sure of themselves.

So many questions, so little time. Most are just "Why?" however, the overriding one is raised by picture 10 and is "Who on earth thought it was a good idea to have an unobscured window in the bathroom at that precise height? And why is it styled like a rifle sight?"
I quite like that. I assume the port-hole window is an original feature, but as it's in the attic, I think lurkers would struggle to see in from the garden, even at night. The window in pic 11 is odd, though.0 -
Possibly the most hideous cottage I've ever seen

I saw scratching post and food bowls and searched hard for lurking, sullen catty, but not spotted him/her yet. So many delightful details;- wonky leg on kitchen table (visible napkin stuffed under leg) Footspa (?) semi-hidden under the coffee table, goodness only knows what the heavy floral curtains are concealing in the conservatory...
Oh and husband has just spotted, leaning over my shoulder; in the kitchen, over the table, there is what looks like a cooker hood on the wall (shelf??). Yes, it is indeed a cooker hood for on the table is a little portable electric hob. Presumably the only cooker in the house...
Wonky furniture, weird cooking arrangements and pointless conservatories aside.......Am I going blind?
It's advertised as a two bedroomed cottage, but where is the second bedroom? I just see the one.:huh: Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
Is it only me that does this ....... Please tell me I'm not the only one.
For quite a while I've been curious to see what the new owners have done to my parents old house, so from time to time I've searched online to see if the house is up for sale, so I can have a virtual look round. It hasn't been up for sale yet, but I've looked round my old house, and was gutted to see that they'd got rid of the lovely kitchen and wardrobes we'd had fitted. Also, I found my aunts old house which had been remodelled out of all recognition.
I know I'm being nosy, but it is interesting!Early retired - 18th December 2014

First paragraph of the blurb states "The property is currently arranged as a one bedroom house with the ability to revert to two and may require some level of repair."
Cheeky, I know, but I suppose it is possible to revert the bathroom to a bedroom and the utility back into the bathroom as the EA kindly points out.Making magic with fabricLight travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.0 -

Yep...get where you are coming from Dave on that one. I've often been told that I must be aware that most people don't go looking as far into the future as I do personally and lots don't look into the future at all.
Must admit - on looking at some pretty darn new houses recently to thinking "Yep...I know it's very 'standard' taste right now - with the huge neutral bathroom wall tiles, the shower-bath with posh shower over, the plain modern floorcoverings. Its what I currently like myself" and exactly what I plan on doing to the rather older house I have decided to buy once my own has sold.;)
Gotta be conventional in my tastes if I'm not in my opinions:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Nice presentation?!! ok, so it's tenanted, but even so..

Also #5 - Yeah you've got a lawn, we get it!
Why so many photo's of the garden and not a single bathroom or bedroom?
And on the floor plan there's another kitchen and breakfast room on the first floor? Weird! What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -

So if someone is having a shower on the ground floor, everyone else has to wait until they finish to make a cup of tea or go up to the second floor?
That has to be the weirdest house layout ive seen for a long time.0
