d'Oyly Carte Island does not have a problem with flooding, it is well protected. And the boats are not a problem either, they are a revenue generator.moneyistooshorttomention wrote: »Private island:D - but I'd worry about flooding. I instantly wondered whether all those boats parked up around the island belong to the house-owner or whether I would have a problem at the outset (ie stopping other people parking on my "territory").

SPCome on people, it's not difficult: lose means to be unable to find, loose means not being fixed in place. So if you have a hole in your pocket you might lose your loose change.0 -

For quite a while I've been curious to see what the new owners have done to my parents old house, so from time to time I've searched online to see if the house is up for sale, so I can have a virtual look round. It hasn't been up for sale yet, but I've looked round my old house, and was gutted to see that they'd got rid of the lovely kitchen and wardrobes we'd had fitted. Also, I found my aunts old house which had been remodelled out of all recognition.
I know I'm being nosy, but it is interesting!
We know the previous owners - not who we actually purchased from, who had only been here less than 2 years, but the ones before that who lived here for nearly 3 decades. They only moved a mile down the road and often pop by for a cup of tea aka to see what we've done with the place...:rotfl:They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -

I love the swimming ponds. I so love the idea of one in my future garden

Isn't it a sun-bed type thing?
Alternatively maybe they have a fetish for steam pressing guests.0 -
