For quite a while I've been curious to see what the new owners have done to my parents old house, so from time to time I've searched online to see if the house is up for sale, so I can have a virtual look round. It hasn't been up for sale yet, but I've looked round my old house, and was gutted to see that they'd got rid of the lovely kitchen and wardrobes we'd had fitted. Also, I found my aunts old house which had been remodelled out of all recognition.
I know I'm being nosy, but it is interesting!
You're not the only one
Recently I posted on this thread that I'd found out that our last-but-one house was for sale again - we sold in 2007 - and I posted the details here as it is IMHO quite an interesting/nice house.
I was interested to see from the pics that the people that bought from us have done very little to the house - added an aga in the kitchen (I knew they intended to do this as they sent round the aga man to measure up before completion) and changed the wall colours in a couple of the rooms.......otherwise everything (that can be seen) is pretty much as we left it, from the curtains I made to the antiques we sold them as we were downsizing
It went under offer very quickly - and is priced at £100k more than we sold to them for
I'm also on the lookout for my parents' old house of 49 years which was sold last year. The female half of the couple that purchased is an estate agent. She maintained they were buying as a family home, but it still wouldn't surprise me if they whack in a loft conversion & knock a few walls down (as the neighbours have) and put it back on the market.........time (and frequent perusals of RM, LOL!) will tell
Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

I have stumbled across a gem of a house, when looking arond an area in which I grew up
The house is in need of renovation I think but its one of those that the more you study the picture the more you see...
Given the fact that its a very 60's or 70's house I'm not sure if its so right...or so wrong...

Those Viccy/Edward terraces are mostly well enough built, and that one doesn't have the bathroom off the kitchen either.
And you could play "Solsbury Hill" on the stereogram (
) whilst actually looking at it!

I have never seen so much Formica in all my days! All those patterns! The patterns around the viewing portals must have been a real labour of love. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0

No - it was one, as I recall, about a woman living on £100 a week and featured a photo of her sitting in her outdoor wild pool.
That's an interesting article though and set off a fit of lusting for a couple of acres worth:(:T0 -
