ok, has anyone signed up to the PRuhealth policy via quidco? does it show in your quidco account? i went through quidco for quotes on my policy and it showed that it was tracked, so it should be ok, just wanted to make sure. Also, if i cancel after 6 months (my policy would cost me GBP20), and get GBP115 in cashback via Quidco, that effectively means that i'll only be paying GBP5 for a 6 month gym deal? sounds too good to be true...am i missing something here?

I work for Premier Choice healthcare who are one of the largest completely independent healthcare specializing intermeadiaries/brokers in the the UK. I worked for norwich Union healthcare for two years and Independently for Premier Choice healthcare for nearly 5 years now. Pruhealth are by far my favourite insurers, a real breath of fresh air in our industry, i have joined them myself and i have placed most of my family and friends with them too. Also i reccomend them to individual clients and corporate clients more than any other insurer, although they are not always suited to every one. I am a member of a gym which is not on their list, as they (Village) are are not on their participating hospital list unfortunately. But i choose them for other reasons i.e. geting 100% of my unclaimed premiums back (see bellow).

The special offer at the moment is £100 Boots voucher OR 6 months free Gym membership to Cannons and participating JJB's (rrp £600 per person) there after its half price too. The Boots voucher has a payback clause if you do not stay at least 12 months with Pru. However the 6 months free gym membership does not, so this can be taken advantage of by those who wish to. Please see terms and conditions in my next post.

Pruhealth has other unique benefits other than the Gym offer besides excellent comprehensive PMI cover above and beyond most other insurers. i.e.

    1. Get 25%, 50%, 75% or even 100% of your unclaimed premiums off next years premiums. Score vitality points by keeping healthy and get up to 100% of this years unclaimed premium off next years premium. this is great for those who lead an active lifestyle or great motivation for those who want to.
    http://www.pruhealth.co.uk/medical_insurance/vitality/reduce_premiums.jhtml

    2. Pre existing conditions covered after two years. With most insurers pre existing conditions will not be covered for the lifetime of the policy. With some insurers you have to go a period of two years advice, treatment and symptom free befor pre existing condtions are covered, but with Pru its just after two years its covered, be it Cancer, a bad back or a dodgy ticker.

    3. Huge discounts on Champneys rrp £220 per person per night including three meals + massage or facial. With Pru £45 - £85 for the same. (depending on your vitality status)

    4. Full health screenings rrp £400-£420 - with Pru £25 - £250 (depending on your vitality status).

    5. Very good customer service with nurses with 6 years mimimum NHS experience answering the claims lines.

I no little about Quidco, but i do know that quidco will obviously be paid a commission via Pruhealth and i know that the comissions via Pruhealth are clawed back if the client cancels within 12 months. So Quidco will be very out of pocket if people join for 6 months and then dump it! I strongly suspect that they are not that silly and there will be a clause somewhere or thay will try and recoup it somehow.

I could offer £60 OR 20% of your annual premium (even if you pay monthly) (the highest of the two) cash back but only on the understanding that its for 12 months minimum.
  • I am currently a member of JJB (paying more that £25 pcm) so I am thinking of cancelling my current membership & taking it out again via the PHI route.

The JJB I am linked with is where I live and on the list of participating gyms. However I often visit another JJB near where I work (for no extra charge) but this is not on the list of participating gyms.

    My questions are these:-
    1. Is there any problem with me cancelling my current arrangement and doing it via PHI.

    2. I am actually gonna move nearer to work, so does it matter that my local JJB Gym doesn't participate, can I put any old one down, or will JJB stop me at their front door and not let me through as they are not participating.

    1. Yes the problem could be the 6 months free Gym offer is for NEW Cannons/JJB members only! You can though get the half price gym membership though by joining Pruhealth. Also interestingly you can dump JJB membership and start a fresh with Cannons and get the 6 months free as a new member or vice versa

    2. Participating gyms only.

  • I am currently have a family membership to cannons gym, can I take out PMI and still get continue the membership and receive tje savings?

Yes although you are not eligible for the 6 months free special offer through cannons (as you are an existing member), you are eligible for half price membership (still very worth while), once you all are a member of Pruhealth.

Hi Guys - anyone know if the Pru Health deal is still running for Holmes Place /Virgin Gyms.

    Or am I too late?

    Dave

Too late i'm afraid, due to their takeover they have dropped out for the moment.
  • Hi, I need some one to just help me clarify some things. when i first saw this offer on martins page. Martin claimed that getting the Holmes place offer would allow you to use the virgin gyms. I;ve spoken to a few customer service people at holmes place and they say that this will not be possible. Ive already registered, the only thing is that ive registered with a London Holmes place because my nearest one in Milton Keynes was not part of the offer. I was wandering if this can be transferred or if i canuse a virgin Gym nearby. Secondly, the quidco cashback, will that be if you stay with pruhealth for 12months, or will the cash back be affected if you cancel after 6 months. I thought the whole pruhealth thing was straight forward, but Im a bit more confused. Any Help please.:confused:

Holmes place are not part of the 6 months free offer anymore, they have dropped out concentrating their efforts on being bought out by Virgin active, its Cannons or participating JJB for 6 months free gym membership. However remember you still get half price gym membership though holmes place, Cannons, JJB's and more. I'm in Halifax and even though we have one of their gymns, this doesn't appear to be on the list of available JJB clubs and the nearest Cannon one is 10 miles away.

Wonder if JJB have just put forward the quieter branches that have spare capacity?

If we were to select another JJB branch, i the membership allowed to be used in other branches permanently or is it restricted to whre you are registered?

Can you transfer your membership to another JJB gymn?

As far as i am aware its participating gyms only.

I think you've got a touch confused, the key is Holmes Places are now rebranded Virgin Active, as i note in the article the deal is for all the Virgin Actives that WERE Holmes places but not the others. Sorry if there was confusion.

    Hi Martin,

I'd first of all like to thank you for your great advice, as i've recently been offered £1385 refund of charges by HSBC by following your steps on how to reclaim these charges. Brilliant!!! So thanks very much  if there's anything you'd like in return (not your style i know) then please just ask.

The offer though (6 months free gym membership) is just Cannon's Gyms and participating JJB gyms as now stated on their website http://www.pruhealth.co.uk/uk/prudential/nosessionrequired/q2a/offers/com_cannons_jjb/joining.jhtml and £25 a month to holmes place and others.

As i've mentioned in other posts i am a Pruhealth member myself and think they are the absolute bee's knee's especially for active people (or people that want to get active and need the right motivation i.e. £££) or for people who want a pre existing condition covered. Did you know that you can get up to 100% of this years unclaimed premiums off next years premiums? Meaning next year i'll probably end up paying for just the increase of the premium (probably around £2-4) for comprehensive PMI which normally costs £30-£50 plus all the discounted extra's as perks  (already taken the Mrs to Champney's as a treat which did me no end of favours! ).
  • Dear All

Just a quickie. I got an email from AXA PPP today offering me my medical insurance for £12.82 and a free night's stay somewhere posh. I had filled in the application on line (following the link from here in december) but not taken it up. I asked for a phone back and they called almost immediatley. I then asked if i could still have the gym membership offer and they said yes (didn't even mention it being out of date although the girl i was speaking to put me onto someone else).

I asked if my details were on their computer from the web stuff i filled in but they had no record of my details so it wasn't linked to that in any way. I suggest if you are interested you ring and ask for the gym membership. i spoke to a David Sanderson dial 08001694728 ext 6803 he was very friendly and gave me the above number. First is a call centre but if you dont get anywhere ask for him on that extension.

I'm 33 a non smoker and non drinker and no previous conditions. i took the basic assurance policy and paid £11.28!!!! I'm very chuffed. Thought i'd let you know.

    good luck!!
