Really, things like this are misleading. Because there are people out there who MUST lose weight for serious medical reasons and there is no way in the world they can do any of that level of exercise! Next week I re-start on the 50+ stretch and tone twice a week and part of that is seated. Also aqua-aerobics. 3 times a week is going to be all I can manage.
I couldn't do 6 meals a day. What Tom Venuto writes makes sense though - we are not all alike. Some people, whom he calls 'genetically gifted', will struggle to put on a pound no matter what they do. My step-granddaughters and their mother are like that. Slim as a willow-wand, but then they're also young and active, no junk food at all. The eldest girl is captain of swimming at her school, and they get school meals with produce from the school's own garden! Pretty rare that, in the present day.
Others, Tom Venuto writes, are sensitive to refined foods, white flour, white sugar, and will easily gain weight. I'm one of those.
The people who run the stretch and tone that I go to, also run bootcamps in the woods near here. I'd love to be able to do that, doing strenuous exercise in the woods at 6 am, but it's a pipe-dream.
exercise is not necessary for weight loss, it can help a bit, but unless you go for it in a hard core way which tbh would be unsustainable for most of us for long periods it wont have a huge effect, if your able a few short high intensity sessions a weak will give you an accelerated metabolism but mostly will get you fit and healthy, which is a good thing. Endurance exercise is not natural for us and can have serious affects on the heart long term.
6 meals a day is not necessary or even an advantage to weight loss, its about the the amount over the week that you eat and especially what you eat
the bit in italics is basically insulin sensitivity which is what i was talking about earlier, some people (about 20% of the population) have an excellent response and so higher level of carbs have lower effect on them, unfortunately we can make it worse by constantly eating a high carb diet (unnatural for us) especially if we are eating high GI carbs like sugar and refined flour (again two unnatural foods for us to eat). The chances are thou the more over weight you are the more shot your insulin resistance is, especially as you approach or pass morbid obesity.

Hi Eric
Thanks. I've just been reading some BFL articles and yes, the exercise seems a bit intense, but apparently you can do it according to your level of fitness and I think it is targeted as a lifestyle choice rather than a quick fix. Margaret, I read Tom's articles too this morning and he makes sense too. According to him, the more CV you do, the more weight will you lose, with a healthy diet of course. I've walked an hour this morning, and hopefully by the end of next week, I'll be able to run - walk - run a bit. So looking forward to that.x

Eric, what are you sweetening it with - artificial sweetener?0 -
Just started TurboFire - felt very fast and complicated, but I did it :j
Did Fire 30 and Stretch 10 so will count this as two slots towards the challenge and add them to the online chart.
As I have failed to get to the 24 (ish) hours I set myself for the last 2 month I might also keep track of my time and see if I get there this month. Third time lucky0 -

I just had the most delicious dinner of chicken breast, stuffed with mozzarella and homemade pesto, wrapped in parma ham, with salad, broccoli and homemade tomato and onion chutney. SO GOOD.
Who was it that recommended the Idiot Proof Diet Cookbook? I ordered it and there are a couple of things in it I liked the sound of - particularly the breakfast muffins. Has anyone made them? I wonder if they would freeze well? Also, can you buy stevia in the shops? That's meant to be the best artificial sweetner, right?
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!0 -

I'm not sure - it should open when you click on the link I think.
Try again and if it doesn't work I'll email you a copy so you can log it yourself.0
