Occy - do you think it would be possible to do this running indoors - I know that sounds strange but I exercise early hours at night and would prefer not to do it outside.
C25K is a series of podcasts to listen to whilst running and walking, all you need is a facility to run in, should that be the streets; a field; a treadmill or indoor hall. The only real requirements are an MP3 player and somewhere to run and walk. The only issue I had with treadmills was swtiching from running to walking easily.

Hi everyone, i hope everyone has been keeping well and not been as ill as when i was last here!
Been off for about 2 weeks for various reasons, and during that time had a chilli night with the girls, and 2 birthday celebrations which involved damons (bbq ribs and chicken) and buffet chinese!
I think i suffered a food hangover after that one! No energy or desire to do anything. It wasn't good but taught me a lesson!
Back on the healthier eating today ( after getting groceries last night) its all too easy to let it slip and be half hearted about things.
I'm gradually now starting to do more classes and use the gym more. I've booked in for 'gentle tone' which made my thighs ache for 3 days! and gentle aerobics, so hopfully its all starting to tie in together.
Its a 1lb loss for me this week.
Fred i'd like to do the paris challenge, but i'll probably just log my mileage. Lets hope i do better then the everest challenge!5lb monthly challenge 0/120 -
+1.6lbs for me this week - thanks, Fred.
I really don't get why my weight keeps going up - I'm eating really well, I'm exercising 6x a week and generally trying to be as active as I can. SO WHY DO I KEEP GAINING WEIGHT  I wouldn't mind it if I'd been off having a great time stuffing my face with cakes or something, but I haven't been; I've been working really hard.
I have been taking pain killers for the past 6 days, and as of today have to take antibiotics, so doubt I'm going to see any losses for a while. It's really getting me down.
Vix, I think that's a great idea - would anyone else be up for a c25k group? I aim to start this week, but I need to wait and see if this bl00dy toothache gets any better.0 -
It could be that your exercise is building muscle, muscle is heavier but takes up less room, so you might appear leaner? clothes to be looser?
My gym instructors told me it could be 6 - 12 weeks before i see a major difference on the scales, and thats just from walking and swimming, and an odd class!5lb monthly challenge 0/120 -

That *could* be the problem believe it or not (you're eating too healthily). You need one day a week where you eat 'Junk'. Oh yes, you heard me right. One day a week, eat junk, like pizza (no bingeing on alcohol though) and you WILL lose weightSECRET TO WINNING PRIZES:

Heys guys.
Hope your all well. I have done my zumba class at lunch, oh porridge for brekkie using the free waitrose 1% fat milk, was still a bit hungr, so had a slice of toast and beans, didnt eat all the beans as it was hard. did zumba then had some slow cooked beef, with steamed rice, green beans, the last of baby spinch and the last of the coleslaw and beetroot, it was really nice, more tomorrow, dont have any veg prepared so i'm gonna buy the veg and salad for work and make it varied, anyway, went to Kickboxing after work, then had a cheese and ham sandwich after, as i try not to eat after 8pm, kickboxing finishes at 7pm, so by the time i'm changed and home, wait or the bus etc its 8pm, my friend who works in the catering dept, loads me up with apples and plums or whatever is going, after we finish the class, so i'm always good for fruit.
Think i will stew some of the apples, have 2 pears that are about to go and some of the plums, using some clemetine juice, i stewed fruit last time and have to say it was really nice, was having it as a snack with onken fat free natural yogurt, i'm pretty sure it was low in calories surely? i really enjoyed it, today after zumba i said to my friend i fancy a cake and i'm going kickboxing onight, i can have a cake surely? but then i mentioned i had a fat free waitrose yogurt and he was like just have the yogurt so i did, think if i had the stewed fruit then i would more enticed to have that instead of a cake, especially because i know i made it!
So a really good day exercise and diet wise, having the right proportions and lots of veg.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

I'm starting the month at 67.0 kg. + 0.1 kg since last week.
That's 10 stone 7 pounds 11 ounces.
Since the New Year I seem to be stuck at about this point, a bit below, a bit above, but essentially, going nowhere. I have no idea why. Not doing anything different as far as I know.
I'm not going to pay anyone to tell me to eat less or eat differently. If I don't know it by now I never shall. Just had mushrooms for breakfast poached in a little oil and balsamic vinegar, with a wholemeal roll and a scrape of marmalade. That will probably last us until about 2 pm. I still go to aqua-fit 3 x week.
Watching 'The Biggest Loser' last night - they all go through the same programme, are all driven by those trainers to push their bodies through things they never thought of doing, and yet the weight losses at the end of the week are very very different. Last night, the wimpish young guy who's always complaining, says he doesn't want to be fit just wants to be slim, who was said to have worked less hard than any of them, had the biggest loss!! Bodies work differently and no accounting for what happens.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

STS for me this week please Fred.
Determined to lose 5lb this month. Have been slacking a bit with using Foodfocus to record what I eat. Going to get back to it for Feb to see if it makes a difference.
Good luck with the weight loss this week everyone.

Hi
Weighed in today and have lost 1lb (13lb 6oz) so still going in the right direction.
I'd like to join the 5lb team challenge this month please Fred - any team is fine as I haven't seen any of the films and don't care who wins! (the oscar that is).
I'd also like to do the challenge but I know I'll never do all of it so I think I'll go for 1/5 (about 43 miles?). I'll do a combination of walking to town and back (2 miles), swimming (3 km) and DVD (1 mile).
Well done to everybody for your losses and good luck for February!August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0
