Happy Birthday Ms Night Ryder! :bdaycake:
Well I made it to the hospital today - was there for three hours!!! Was really strange seeing an x-ray of my own foot, lol - I've never had anything x-rayed before. Nothing broken :j, just a bad sprain. They have told me that it'll take 4-6 weeks (already done two), and that I can walk around on it and stuff, just nothing too strenuous. They have told me that ibuprofen will help and have shown me some exercises to do... So pleased that I can walk on it, was really worried that they would tell me that I needed to rest it, lol.
I had some amazing painkillers while I was there, could almost walk normally!Think I overdid it though as it is hurting a lot more tonight since they have worn off - shame they didn't give me any extra! (bought my own, although not quite as good as theirs
).
Think I'm going to dose myself up in the morning and have a wander around town, only an hour or so, but hopefully adding a little bit of walking each day will help things along a bit0 -

Hi Frodo - what is bootcamp?
Didn't make it to linedancing today, not feeling up to it, but we did go for a walk. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
LL
Hi LL, we meet for bootcamp at 6 in the morning 3 times a week. Our instructor gives us a 45 minute workout and its quite tough going but good fun as well. We meet whatever the weather and sometimes we get absolutely soaked!
I am really seeing good results, not so much with weight loss (I have lost 23lb but mostly stayed the same for some weeks) but my body is really begining to tone up. I am hoping the reason I'm not losing weight is because I'm reducing fat and increasing muscle.DFW Nerd 1394.

Hello all - I've generally being lurking around here over the last 7-10 days while trying to make some changes "in the background" (you know - bit of exercise, eating food that's a bit healthier and cutting out the snacky bits... usual stuff!). Not seeing much effect yet, but it's obviously still very early days!
Just wondering if anyone would mind giving me advice on exercise DVDs - which ones do people prefer or find most effective? Spotted those 10 Minute Solution ones, has anyone used them? You were only killing time and it'll kill you right back0 -
hi girl!
Zumba or bollywood ones are pretty good! I think theyre fun at least! It might be worth you having a look on youtube, trying a few and seeing what you enjoy doing the most? Thats what i do sometimes, even gives me ideas when i freestyle it up in my living room!
Above all else, its what you put into your mouth that really makes a difference. I'm eating way more fruit and veg, and drinking lots of peppermint tea! Its working alright so far!0 -

Hi
I like the 10 minute solution dvds - I have a pilates one, a kickboxing one and a blast off belly fat one. I would recommend reading the reviews on amazon for them - lots of people have tried them and some are better than others.
I really love Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred - it's made up of three levels, you start on level one, which is do-able but tough and then once you're good with that you move on to level one and so on. The workouts are only 20 minutes long, but you do strength, cardio and abs and I definitely feel like I've had a workout after it! It's around a fiver on amazon.
I also like some of Davina's dvds, but again you'd be better reading reviews. In fact, I would just have a good look on amazon at all the exercise dvds and choose the ones that interest you most and have the best reviews0 -
Thanks both!! I'm off to Amazon / YouTube :rotfl:Zumba or bollywood ones are pretty good! I think theyre fun at least! It might be worth you having a look on youtube, trying a few and seeing what you enjoy doing the most?
I did try Zumba, but I can't get the hang off so I think that'll be going on ebay! Hadn't thought to look for videos on youtube though...world_of_tights wrote: »In fact, I would just have a good look on amazon at all the exercise dvds and choose the ones that interest you most and have the best reviews
This is what led to me to ask here about people's experiences with the 10 minute solution DVDs actually, they appear to be reviewed well on Amazon and seem perfect for a busy life! You were only killing time and it'll kill you right back0 -
2 miles on bike today & 1/4 mile on treadmill.
