Hi everyone, not been here a few days, but from what i've seen it seems a lot of people have been ill, so i hope you all feel better soon.
We've also been ill here too, a nice cough/cold which keeps you awake at night, plus a teething child. So with the o/h working away i went to stay at my dads.
They dont have stairs so non to add, and i got 'fed up' as i was ill they thought i needed to eat.
Did manage a 3 mile walk yesterday though, which is much further then i would normally go, so small blessings.
Weight this morning 13.13, which i think is STS
Thanks to everyone who posts and helps keep up my motivation, and thanks Fred for the charts

I agree that the Food Doctor's suggested portion sizes are probably smaller than what I am used to because I tend to eat 3 reasonable sized meals per day and my snacks are small, a handful of nuts, a mini-babybel, a mini pepperami, but I am going to have a think about whether it is a sustainable way to maintain. Maintenance has always been my big problem! I have also just got Marissa Peer out of the library (trying to be MSE) "You can be thin" which has good reviews and addresses the psychological reasons for over-eating. I am determine to crack this!
I agree about the psychology - well, I would, wouldn't I, being a Behavioural Sciences graduate. In my opinion, and in my experience, it all starts and continues in the head. In other words, you have to 'get your head in the right place' or nothing will work. Motivation is everything. No one ever achieved anything, in any field, unless they were motivated. But, motivation is not something that others can do for you. You have to find it for yourself.
I'm not used to snacking, but then, I grew up before the snacking culture of modern times really took hold. Snacking has therefore never become a habit of mine. I don't know why I gained so much weight over the past decade or so, maybe just becoming less active and eating the wrong things, eating for convenience and being lazy about cooking 'real food'.
Yesterday I went for a walk around the block as insisted upon by Dr Dukan - 20 minutes. Not too long ago I couldn't have walked round the block without stopping at every other gateway to have a rest! We had leek and lentil soup for lunch, then in the afternoon DH wanted to go to the RSPB site at Rainham Marshes. We had a coffee - the volunteers there make cakes, flapjacks etc but I didn't have any except for a few crumbs of DH's! I persuaded him to go for a little walk, and then he said 'Can you get out of here near the main road without going back?' I said I thought you could. He decided to walk back to the car and bring it to meet me. I walked, and walked...but all the gates were locked. You can't get out of that site except by going back to the main entrance. I could see him on the road parallel to the footpath I was on, but couldn't get to him except by plunging through a marsh! So I ended up walking back, and must have walked for nearly an hour in total. Anyone else could walk at twice the speed I can walk, but at least, it was exercise.

Hi
Thankfully a loss to report this week - 2lb off so now 13st8lb again. I can't claim any credit for this as it's just through going back to 'normal' eating after Christmas but I feel better!
Since last posting I have done another 60 climbs so total is now 220. My aim for this next week is to do the average everyday when I have worked it out (before it gets too high!) (ETA it's @64 including today)and one other piece of exercise (walk, DVD or swim every day).
We walked to town today but as I bought 2 big pots of paint to decorate the DDs' room we got a taxi back (amazingly only slightly more expensive than the bus). Carrying them was OK for a few minutes but I don't think I would have made it home!August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -
+0.4lbs for me - thanks, Fred.
Not quite sure why I'm gaining at the moment - I'm eating right and exercising. It might be the exercising, I hadn't done any for pretty much the whole of December. I had a gain last week too though, and usually it evens out by now.
I guess things are slowing down now I don't have as much weight left to lose :cool:0 -

Feeling really fed up after being stuck in the house with my bad back. Trying to keep busy to stop stiffening up but a bit limited as to what I can do at the minute.
One thing that this is teaching me is how much better I feel when I am able to exercise and how quickly I begin to feel sluggish and ugh!!!
Sorry to see that others have been ill too. I am beginning to think that the Christmas break is not really that good for us!0 -
1 1/2 hours at yoga today.
