Welcome to the thread! :j
RE: Everest - we are basically attempting to climb the height of Everest (from base camp to the summit), which is 11,328 ft. Most of us are climbing stairs, but you can also use step machines, the wii fit step, a climbing wall, etc.
If you're doing it on stairs it usually works out at about 50 flights a day (mine are only 43 flights- probably as I have wind around stairs with a half landing).
Some people are also doing distance - the length of 11,328 on say a treadmill, cross trainer, etc. If you want to join in just post and let Fred know, if you are stair climbing you can tell her the height of your stairs, then just post how many times you've been up them.0 -
Thank you so much for the reply lolly101
At the risk of sounding stupid, is going up and down a flight of stairs (at home) counted as 1 flight?
Just off to measure my stairs, and PM Fredsnail.
*omg its going to kill me lol*

I've just been thinking, even though i'm watching what i'm eating, recording it on food focus etc, will the fact i've gone from pottering lightly around the house to doing exercise everyday ( ie stairs or walks mostly) add to my weight?
I dont want excuses, but am just wondering if my body will build up some muscle first, causing a weight gain, then a delayed loss as my body is then functioning better and more efficiently?
Could anyone advise on this please?5lb monthly challenge 0/120 -

Caz I always find that when I do a Bootcamp session I put on weight the next day, but then lose it and more over the following few days. I think any change can effect your weight and I have given up trying to work it out as it makes my head hurt :rotfl:0 -
Yes, only 'up' matters, so up and down counts as 1 (unfortunately, lol)0

Hi everyone - hope you had a lovely Xmas and New Year!
Like many of you I too had a stonking willpower failure over the festive season and I've put on about half a stoneFS I'll message you!
No challenges for me this month please as I'm going on holiday next week for my birthdayand I can't see myself turning down all that lovely beer Budapest has to offer!
Best foot forward everyone, has anyone got any healthy New Year's resolutions they're prepared to go public with? Mine is to drink water with meals instead of Pepsi Max!

Hi guys hope everyone is well.
+1lb gain for me this week. Ok with that as I deserve it andthink I've probably got of lightly ( no pun intended!).
According to my new analyaser scales though my body fat has reduced slightly and muscle mass increased, not bad in just a few days back at bootcamp.
Is anyone else finding it difficult to get back to good eating habits, and resist things we souldn't be having! I am eating well again but finding my will power sadly lacking, and keep having lots of little extras.:pDFW Nerd 1394.

This is my life right now. Hoping it will fix itself next week when I'm back at work.
It's a +0.2lbs for me this week - hopefully I can get that off quickly0
