Just wanted to thank Jess and Lolly. I've decided to attempt the Everest challenge after reading your posts above. I thought i'd do them in blocks of 10, and they dont take long, however it soon got me breathless!
So 10 flights so far, but i'm feeling positive for tomorrow, and will definately need to up my water intake too.
Think in a weeks time i could add some small kilo weights too, but dont want to get too ahead of myself here!
Well done - make sure that you measure the height of 1 step and times it by the number of steps and let me know the total so that all you have to do is to count the number of times you do the flights so we can track your progress up Everest (everyone's stairs are different so everyone does different numbers of flights)0 -
Hi Fred, thanks they are 7 inches and 13 steps, so the took the measurement from above.5lb monthly challenge 0/120

Well I am disgusted with myself  I have just managed to pull out my scales to find in a month I have put on 9LB :eek::eek::eek:
I knew my will power has been a little low this christmas but that is just shameful.
So back to basics from today. Was going to go out for a run but then seeing the weather I'm not sure it is going to happen so therefore I think I am going to join in the Everest Challenge again. So I am going to attack the stairs instead.
So Fred - do you still have my stairs details from last time or do you need them again? Can I also include my rock climbing heights as well? I will measure the wall tomorrow and then how many times I went up and can convert that to stairs to keep it easy for you.
Can you also add me to the 5lb challenge for this month please and take me off the bottom of the chart as I don't deserve to be thereThank you
Beanie - Know how you feel
Mandz - Mine was a mince pie I didn't even want so know what you mean

Hi and a belated Happy New year.
I will face B*ots and get weighed tomorrow and hopefully that will be the worst of it!
My stairs are also the regulation 7 inches by 13 steps so I'll take the figures from above and go and make a start now.
Good luck and, more importantly, much willpower to everybody - I like the idea of shedding my fat suit!
ETA - just did 20...oh deary me:eek:August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -
I am just about managing 5 flights before becoming very breathless
- how easily we slip back  Plan to attack this challenge by doing 5 flights each time there is an interval on TV during the evening.
Had a go at the Insanity DVD today - just did the warm up and Cardio Recovery (recommends that you do this for a week or so if you are a beginner before you start the 60 day plan) Managed most of it, but my shoulder hurting a bit by the end.
Looking forward to Biggest Loser starting tonight - anything that helps to inspire me at the moment is very welcome.

I will be watching the fat fighters tonight at 8, then straight onto the biggest loser at 9. Looks like a good night of telly.PAD Maker0

Well Ive done quite well on day 2 of the body overhaul!
Porridge for brekkie
Lunch was mashed turnip and 3 spicy chicken mini fillets
Tea was cauliflower cheese and 100g cooked chicken.
Also had a ww coconut cake slice with a cuppa.
Not too bad about 1056 cals. I don't feel hungry either, so I think I'm doing ok. Looking forward to another good day tomorrow.:T0 -
Well i think i've had a good start. Not done any specific exercise today, but have been doing general housework and taking down the christmas dec's etc, so been more active then usual.
10 flights of stairs done so far today too.
Food wise
3 scrambled eggs (no toast etc) for brunch
1 banana, a pear and 4 belvita breakfast biscuits, with a ww hot choc during the afternoon.
Tea i measured 250 chicken, good with bbq seasoning and a small amount of honey
100g of carrots, 100g peas, 100g green beans and 120g potato.
On serving this i've managed to get 2 meals from the veg, and there is more chicken for tomorrow.
I've never weighed food out much before, but am really taking notice of weight/portion sizes at the moment, there is even chicken left over from tea to snack on ( should i really feel i need it).
There is also sugar free jelly at the ready to satisfy my sweet tooth, should i need it. I think i have a tendancy to eat out of boredom, but will to reign that in along with everything else.
I've been using food focus to record everything and find that helps me a lot, and also to say no i dont need it.
When i have felt hungry i've tried drinking water and have got through my 2litres quite easy.
I hope the next few days are as reasonably smooth as this one!5lb monthly challenge 0/120 -

Don't beat yourself up - you will get back on track very soon.
I do have your stair measurements from last time - 8.5 feet for home stairs and 10.5 feet for work stairs - please let me know if those are wrong.
Yes you can include your rock climbing too.
Will add you to 5lb challenge - but will keep you at the bottom for Jan - if you've not lost the 9lb then I'll move you up.0 -
Hey everyone, i havent started on the cardio as yet, but did start the sit ups yesterday, am going to do todays during fat fighter breaks, very determined as on new years day, as i was coming back from a party, i saw an x and he said to me, you pregnant yeah and pointed to my belly! i was wearing a coat as well
