Happy New year to everyone who's lurked or participated in this thread.

There are 2 quotes I'm sharing with you today:

The first is from Marsha Petrie Sue:

"Every day is a new beginning. Treat it that way. Stay away from what might have been, and look at what can be."

The second is anonymous but meant for us all whatever we think is wrong with us, what we wish could be changed - we are still us and still special:

"Just be yourself; you are wonderful."
  • Happy new year everyone and thank you for all your help.x

    Happy New Year everyone

Have set myself a personal goal of trying to excercise 5 days a week during 2012. Have been doing about 3 but now need to get serious ;) My plans are to continue aquafit, bootcamp and salsa aerobics once a week and add in a couple of sessions either at the gym or using DVD at home.

Good morning everyone and happy new year.
Base mark of the new year is 14 st 2lb, thats a 3lb gain over the holiday period so, not over bad.

My pedometer is at the ready to encourage me to move more, and we're going out as a family later for a walk, in a start as we mean to go on.
So hopefully i can be eat better this week with everything going back to normal, and if i cant get out, at least try and use the wii fit etc to burn some calories!

Also can you put me down for the 5lb challenge please

Anyone wishing to join the Everest Challenge this month you can count climbing and distance as I've changed the chart.

If you want to count climbing you need to measure the height of 1 step (and times it by the number of steps in the flight if you're climbing a flight) to give a total height (please add if the height is in inches/feet or cm/meters) and if you post the total height you just then have to log the number of times you climb.

You can also have 2 different height of stairs to count - ie home and work - please label each for the total height and when you post how many times you've climbed so I can log them correctly for you.

If you want to log distance I can do both miles and kms together so please let me know whether each distance is miles or kms.

Each Wednesday I'll post a table which will show the % of Everest you've climbed and also when you've reached base camp, camp 1, camp 2, camp 3, camp 4 or the Summit on the South East Ridge.

Well I've had the worst start to 2012... woke up this [STRIKE]morning[/STRIKE] afternoon with a huge hangover, stumbled down the stairs to find that the gas meter had broken (the repair man has only just left so we've been freezing all day). But the worst thing by far.... I broke my freakin' laptop!!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek:
Dropped an almost full bottle of diet coke on it , it's smashed something inside the screen and the the LCD stuff is leaking out. I can still use it, but I've just got black and pink streaks all over the screen... and I think they're getting worse :(.

Needless to say, the diet starts tomorrow :p.
I never start on Jan 1st anyway as I'm always too hungover, but I think I deserve a day off after the day I've had :(.

    Back tomorrow...
