My auntie of 68 has been on a diet and has lost 14 stone she is very small in height she cannot get her waist line back, can anyone help with this please

Has her height decreased over time?

It may be that the pads between the vertebrae in her spine have collapsed with age. This has happened to me and I know I'll never get my waist measurement back to what it was. The tailoring company I go to say that a woman size 12 in her 20s will have a different shape in her 50s even if still size 12. They're the only people I've ever come across who recognise this fact. As the majority of their clientele are older women, not poor shall we say, they design their clothes with this in mind.

No sure if, her height has decreased over time but she has always been small, she has osteoarthrists and had two knee replacements recently.
  • Hi can someone tell me or show me where to find the challenges please?

I need something weekly or so to keep me focused and keep up my motivation.
I've never been great at sticking to diets and realistically i know there will be times i will faulter here, but i think with smaller targets/timescales it will help

Thanks for the chart Fred. Well done to WoT :T:T Appologies to the Rudolf team for my lack of will power and weight gain over Christmas :o

Could you put me down for the 5lb challenge and the England team this month Fred. I will give the other challenge a miss as I will set myself a time challenge - want to increase my exercise to 5 times a week.

Moremore I know that my shape has changed as I have gotten older - bottom smaller and waist much bigger. This is partly due to hormonal changes I beleive. Also if she has lost 14 stone, she may have excess skin that is keeping her waistline larger than she would like. May be worth seeing her GP.

Well, I've always been small - never quite achieved 5 feet in height, always just below. Had a bit of a shock, though, when I went to a Diabetes Open Day and went through the risk screening for developing diabetes, which involved measuring height and weight, among other things. I was very surprised to find that my height is 2 inches less than I thought it was! I notice that there is no space between the bottom of my rib-cage and the top of my hip-bones i.e. this is where your waist normally goes. The upshot of all this is that I have several size 18 skirts which I can still wear - have just shortened some of them by 4 inches - but for anything else, it's size 14.

    Hey Everyone,

Hope you all had a great Xmas! :xmassmile

Hello/welcome back to all of the old faces... I often wonder where you have all gone to, but never bother to ask as I doubt that you'll ever read it, lol. :)

Welcome to anyone new - you've come to the right place! :D

Well I missed weigh in, thought today was wed, lol. I'd lost 3lbs but I think that was due to barely eating yesterday as I was v. hungover :o.

Really looking forward to new year as all of the junk, drink and party food is catching up with me _pale_. Been keeping up with my Just Dance games so have been burning loads of cals, should start to show when I get back into a good food routine, as at the mo it's just counteracting the extra food/drink cals.

Fred - Thank you for doing the charts and challenges! :A Can you please put me down for the 5 lb challenge, climbing, and England (although am happy to go back to my roots and go for Ireland to even the numbers out).
