I'm down to 66.6 kg today, that's less than I've been for a huge number of years. Less than 10 1/2 stone, going down towards the 10.

About calories in cold weather - you may be thinking of the physiological process by which the body keeps itself at optimum temperature which means, neither too hot nor too cold. This does take calories.

This is my 'protein Thursday' - according to Dr Dukan, every Thursday is a protein-only day.
I think Christmas makes me a bit fatalist but wouldn't it be great to buck the trend and lose in December?

Yes, it would, and why shouldn't you? If you're serious about losing weight then Christmas, Easter, St George's Day or Pancake Tuesday shouldn't make any difference. It's just another date on the calendar!

Well I missed weigh in again :o. Although it was an STS (gained 1 lb this week, which cancels out last week's loss). I don't think I want to join a team challenge this month as I've got a lot of parties and nights out coming up so doubt I'll do very well!

Will still join the exercise challenge, I really love the idea this month so should do well with it. Will PM you now Fred :)

    Heres a question.
Does being cold burn more calories?

Yes, Dr Dukan gives tips on burning extra calories using things like that in his book. He talks about things like blasting yourself with cold water when in the shower, and eating cold food and drink rather than hot.

I'm in - email sent to you Fred :).

The North Pole challenge I'm in for 42.88 km (which I will be wii-jogging too).

I'd like to be a Snowwoman please (hmm one or two "w"'s lol).

And I think I'll try the 5lb challenge in spite of Christmas, I disagree a bit with Margaretclare - if you never give yourself a break you run the risk of burning out and giving up completely! But each to their own. I reckon if I limit my indulgences to Christmas day itself and stay reasonably on track through the rest of the month I should be okay.

    Hi

I am on the Wedding Diet Thread but I thought I would join this one as well because I'm not losing the weight just for the wedding.

I've been losing for about a month now and I have lost 6lbs but I have another 51lbs to lose. So I have done approximately 10% (that just made me feel better putting it like that lol)

I can't join in with the exercise part as health problems mean I can only walk right now and not too far but I will join in with the 5lb challenge. I will also join the Santa team.

Is there anything else you need to know and what day do I need to post my weight loss (or gain)?

5 lbs challange for me this month please fred & the advent challange.
Cant quite get the other one to do what I want it to do as i iz thick.
Have managed now and it comes out at 23.3.That is too much for me so I want to do 1/4 of that which is 5.8.
If I make the target too high it demotivates me.On second thoughts I will do 1/3 of that which is 7.7
Oh & will be a humbug :rotfl:
Hope I havent confused you too much fred :)

Welcome, and nice going so far!

Fredsnail does a wonderful job and puts up the charts on a Wednesday but you can weigh in any day you want. It helps if you put your loss (or gain) and progress towards any challenge in a different colour and size :).

You might need to fess up to your starting weight (or PM it to Fredsnail if you're shy ;) ) for the team challenge, which uses a percentage.

Thank you for the charts fred.

I'd like to join the humbugs team and I will try 24 miles this month. I'm not joining the 5lb challenge any more as I'm on my last 10lbs now and I know these will be the slowest to shift.

Does the challenge start today? If so I did 1 mile today
