I know there are lots of 'newer' ones on the market, but I like hers because I feel they're achievable.

I’ve been struggling abit with motivation recently so I decided to take a week or so off – well, kind of. I halved the exercise, slightly eased off on the diet and skipped the weigh-in. I’ll be back for a proper weigh in tomorrow.

Anyway, I was getting really down about how slowly my weight is dropping, even though mentally I KNOW that it HAS to take a long time to be sustainable and to stay off. But I managed to find some perspective, so I thought I’d share it in case it prompts anyone else who’s been having motivational issues to find their own boost (and also so I can come back and read it next time I’m feeling down):
1. I threw out my biggest pair of “fat” jeans. The next ones down fit me comfortably for the first time in a while and I’m never going to let myself get so big again.
2. I’m wearing last winter’s work clothes – might not seem like a big step but part of my trigger to lose weight was the huge amount I put on giving up smoking (in April). Now I’m back to my pre-quitting size (in fact probably a little less)
3. My fitness has improved hugely, I can do my 2hr workout and not just collapse in a jelly-like heap after.
4. When I was doing a little exercise at the weekend my OH (out of the blue, which is pretty unusual for him) pointed out that I had picked up the pace a lot in my wii jogging.
5. I can do a press-up(s)!
6. I had reason to put on a white shirt I haven’t worn for months. It has gone from too tight to wear to “comfortable” (fat person speak for loose).
7. It might be small changes, but my weight has gone down every single week since I came back from holiday (sometimes too small to record here I think).
