Sorry Fred Snail my weight is wrong. At last weigh in I had a total weight loss of 21.5lbs.

I think I may have caused the confusion because I weigh in on a Thursday or Friday.

All your hard work is much appreciated FS. :T

No problem - have changed it ready for next week.

Just bought a polar ft4 from amazon. It was either that or an ft7 but they both seem to have good reviews. It feels so odd when Shaun T from insanity says to look at the heart rate monitor when i don't have one. :o I was always planning on getting one, but managed to get hold of some amazon vouchers to make them free. :D Can't wait till it arrives. I just need something that gives me my heart rate and tells me the number of calories im burning. Should hopefully show me if I'm eating the right amount or not.

Anyway just realised that if I lose about 1.5lbs more, I would have lost 40% of my total body weight since beginning. My siblings tell me I'm definately the biggest loser lol.

    Hi

Thank you Fredsnail for the charts and for the challenge as I think the exercise is making a lot of difference for me.

Went swimming yesterday including 30 min walk to town, swim (40 or maybe 42 lengths in 45 minutes - I did lose count at one point but decided to do more rather than risk not doing the km) and 25 mins walk home = 100 mins. So new total is 3hrs 40 mins.

Trying to eat sensibly though I did have some bread last night. I bought an unsliced loaf and sadly I couldn't resist having a couple of slices buttered (well marged). My choice!

Generally though, I'm feeling more confident around food now, nothing is banned and food isn't shouting at me as much as it used to.
Also no more Sl*mming W*rld or any regime, too much ££ and as my diet is based largely around leftovers I won't bin things anymore because they don't fit it in with a diet.
I've been struggling with this dilemma for a while as I had bought the diet firms 'sell' that I couldn't lose without following one of their plans. Now I think I can so on we go!

Hope everybody's having a good week.

I think DEXA scans are more accurate than bod pods (and also more expensive aswell!) I want to get a DEXA scan soon as the scales are not accurate at all for BF% and muscle (even the ones with the hand grip things). I just use mine to check bodyfat improvements though I always take into consideration that it wont be correct at all.

Ooh yes, I think I remember hearing about DEXA scans. Probably didn't take much notice as it wouldn't be worth me doing one for a long while yet, lol!

I've got a Polar FT4! It's great!!! :j I don't really take too much notice of my heart rate, I just love being able to get an accurate measure of how many cals I'm burning. It's really fun to test it out on different exercises and activities, lol!

Hello all, I have a new fitness regime.

Dr Dukan says: walk every day. Well, all right. I've now stopped being so sensitive about using a walking-stick, who cares, I don't limp so much and can stride out using the stick rather than without.

I've just joined LA Fitness locally. That means: I can go to 45 minutes aqua-aerobics Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Last week I went to the little pool and the changing facilities are so cramped, a lot of big women in there, not much room for me, and then the next class - children - comes charging in there! Little boys, pre-school, I'd rather not show them my bits, thank you! Been to LA Fitness this morning, modern well-equipped changing area, totally different.

Weight this morning: 67.4 kg. I think it was a bit less by the time we got home because, as Eric says, poop weighs a lot, and I'd been about 4 times by then. Constipation can be a problem with the Dukan Diet.

If I haven't lost the remaining 7.4 kg by 19th December I'll opt to go on to the 3rd stage of the Dukan programme rather than going on with the 2nd stage, which is alternate days protein-only and protein-with veg. On the 3rd stage I'll be allowed fruit (except the 4 forbidden ones) and also, 2 slices of medium wholemeal bread a day. I can't go on for very much longer without fruit. I really look forward to an orange, an apple, a mandarin orange, or half a grapefruit for breakfast.

I have some friends of the same age who went to some kind of seminar at their GP's and they're doing 'portion control'. They also go on 5-mile hikes - live in a beautiful spot, not far from Fountains Abbey - and they're always been good at walking. Wish I could do the same. But I'm getting to be able to walk better than I did.

    Hi

Another hour yesterday walking to town and back.

Today will either be the DVD or an hours walking (might even break into a trot if no-one's looking).
