I am reporting a 2LB LossThis week thanks Fred :A
Also can I add an lowly 30 mins to the fitness challenge. Will hopefully get better in next few days and do some more exercise.
I am slightly getting annoyed with myself with my weight going up and down week by week. I need to re-take control and try and keep constant weight or loose a little more.
Princess X - Well done on getting your problems out in the open, and now you can look into trying to solve it. I hope you find help soon
Occy - Fat %, there normally is info with your scales in the instruction manual. If not look at http://www.bmi-calculator.net/body-fat-calculator/body-fat-chart.php HTH

Well done on the losses coming in this week :TRestarting C25K in 2014 - Week 8 - 1/3 completed
Need to loose 25lb / 3lb lost so far0 -
-2.6lbs for me this week, thanks Fred!
I have started doing resistance traing again, which is exciting and I am LOVING level one of the 30 Day Shred (although worried about how difficult level two sounds).
I'm also starting to really worry about loose skin. Does anyone have much experience of this? I was googling 'loose skin after weight loss' and this site popped up: http://www.bodyfatguide.com/LooseSkin.htm - any thoughts? I am moisturising a lot, staying hydrated and exercising, and while my loose skin is still full of fat, I'm pretty sure that I'm going to have big problems with it soon.
Also, I miss Eric0 -

WoT re: loose skin, I haven't lost as much weight as you but I am a lot older and so less elastic and I have been pleasantly surprised by my skin. It is a little wrinkly on the tummy, but really not to bad. I have used any old body lotion and have drunk plenty of water. I am hoping that more exercise and time will remedy the wrinkly bits!0

Yes, I miss Eric too! Where are you Eric? Hope that you are OK and just busy.0

Have just been looking back over some old printouts - 18 months ago I was a stone lighter
Yet my body fat is the lowest it's ever been since I started using the monitor (currently 44.2%) - still lots to be done but at least I know things are healthier on the inside even if it isn't showing on the outside yet!
So am going even more public with the sig so that I have even more motivation to do my very best
People taking part in other challenges around the board have team or club names (eg Team Sticky), is there one for this thread? Or are we all incognitoIf it doesn't move, eBay it until it does

Occy
Hi Occy
Not sure if you're male or female (sorry, I can't see you! :rotfl:)
The print out I get with my weight and body fat gives these recommendations for a 30yo female, hope they help:- Excellent: 21.0%
- Good: 26.0%
- Average: 29.3%
- Poor: 34.8%

As I've got quite a lot to lose, I'm pretty worried about it too and doing much the same as you. I'm trying to lose weight slowly but regularly and keep up a good exercise regime. I'd red the site you've linked and in my entirely unprofessional opinion this guy is full of carp!
For example "I challenge anyone to show me a photo of a woman with 10% body fat who has loose skin." well, no - but that could be because a) 10% body fat is the bottom end of the minimum a woman needs just to live, b) the way body fat is measured would be skewed if you had a lot of loose skin, c) "hollywood celebrities" as an advert for attractive, healthy looks? I get the feeling this guy is one of those who think the size zero look is a good look.
If you saw Embarrasing Bodies last week it was about fat and there were a few people with loose skin issues. There is no way that their problems would be fixed with a bit more muscle! That being said, I've heard a lot of people advocate toning and resistance exercise along with good old time to see an improvement.
/steps off soapbox
Fred: 1lb loss (which, in spite of what I said above, is depressingly slow) and 4hrs to the challenge please.

- 1.75 lb loss for me this week Fred - hope I am not too late for the chart.
25 min treadmill and 20 min swim yesterday - so 45 min to add to this
months challenge.ooo Good luck with that jess, I couldn't imagine not eating bread, I honestly wouldn't know what else to eat.
I havent bought bread for at least 3 month and it wasn't bothering me at all untill the last few weeks, when I found the odd slice creeping in. It is one of those things that once I have some, I crave more - so it has to go.

Hey Everyone,
Busy thread tonight!
Princess - It's great that you have the zigzagging plan in place, I hope it works out. Keep posting as it really does help to have somewhere you can chat about things - a problem shared...
WoT - I think that his advice would help someone with a small amount of loose skin, but would do hardly anything for someone with a lot. I think that age has a lot to do with it, but also the rate that you lose it - the slower you lose the weight, the more time your skin has to 'adapt'. You are doing everything that you should be doing to help with the water, moisturising, and exercising.
One other thought, I've seen lots of vitamin and mineral supplements for 'healthy skin, hair and nails', I'm not sure what vitamins and minerals are in them, but maybe topping up your levels of whatever they are would give your skin an extra boost.
Cabby - Well done on going public with your goals! :T Well, we have the team names for the challenges each month, but I don't think we've got one for the thread as a whole... but we definitely should!!!
Anyone have any suggestions?0
