Morning all, Happy to report a 2lbs loss this week, dont know how i managed it though!!
Only 2 more lbs to go till im out of the 15s:jPAD Maker0 -
Hey all
1lb loss for me, I guess it has to slow down as I approach an ideal weight but I wish it wouldn't. There might be a scales issue last week so we could be looking at 1.5lbs average across 2 weeks rather than 2 last week and 1 this.
Running tonight whilst DS is football training but as we have the kitchen fitter in this week may have to do a take away tonight, lose with one gain with another ho hum.
Please note lose not loose.

Hey Everyone,
Nat - Congratulations on the loss! :j Sounds like you've made a great start!
MargaretClare - Sounds like you had a lovely time. Well done on not giving in to the lovely food! :T I probably wouldn't have been able to resist.
Elly - That vid is fab! DS1 thought it was amazing and watched it three times, lol. It got me thinking, wouldn't it be great if we could hook our exercise machines up to the Wii and make the exercise part of a game... that would relieve the boredom and get me using it more! I'm sure that is something we'll be able to do in a few years time.
Jess - Good luck with bootcamp!
Congratulations Mandz!
Well I'm an STS again, starting to wonder if I'll ever have another loss to declare, lol. I was pretty bad last week though, and it probably would have been a gain had not been quite good over the last few days. Oh, and 1.5km to add from a mini bike session yesterday. Didn't feel up to much, but not feeling too bad today so will try for more.0 -
Morning.
Very pleased and not a bit relieved to report a 2lb loss this week so now 13st 5lbs.
I've also got another 4km swimming/walking to add so total is (I think) 17km.
I sometimes feel a little mood dip after I've weighed myself and lost as I know I've got to put in another another whole week's effort before I (hopefully) get another weightloss buzz! So I have to watch myself today and make sure I get straight back on the wagon! Onward and upward...
Hope everybody has had a good week.August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -
Hello,
A newbie to this thread - I've been aware that I've been putting on weight again lately, after a battle to get down from 15st I got down to 10st summer (2010), but this year I've managed to put a stone back on and am back to being 11st something (I weighed myself at a friends the other week :-()
So I've decided that I need to do something about it as a) I'm not happy seeing "11" there at all and b) because my clothes don't fit or are uncomfortable, and c) I've lost my confidence.
I've just reserved some scales online to collect tonight so that I can weigh myself properly ( no more burying my head in the sand ) and have decided to use SlimFast (well, the Tesco version) to help me get back into a routine of watching what I eat. My biggest problem is portion control so having a controlled shake seems good. Started that today, and have got my 3 snacks for the day.
I'm quite suprised myself that I had a shake this morning at 8am, and I've eaten half of one of my snacks (rice crackers) but I'm not feeling hungry like I thought I would.
So when I get my new scales tonight I'll face my fear and weigh myself...and then lets hope I can lose this extra stone thats making me so unhappy. I'll post later what the scary number is... :-s
Any help and support would be really very much appreciated :-) I've done this before and remember how hard it was to get into it, but I'm hoping that like before it's that "first hurdle" to get over.
Thanks!Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world!

Just found this article which is of interest: http://www.weight-loss-research.com/
This is such good common sense:
"Weight Loss is a task that requires a conscious, intentional effort. In other words, calorie charts, scales, diet sheets and good intentions are often not adequate tools to regulate body weight over a lifetime. You should also read this fatloss4idiots review if you want to lose weight naturally. If weight regulation is going to be successful, it must take place over a long period of time and it must allow the body to adjust to the new calorie requirements and intake. The regulation of appetite and metabolism is the responsibility of automatic programs built into your body. These programs follow ancient principles of biological design and do not work well for long-term weight loss with "Hollywood" diets."
'Allow the body to adjust...' yes, this is true. So many times we're disappointed with STS yet again, but in fact all that is happening is the body adjusting.
This morning I made a pan of carrot and onion soup - so easy and so filling. We have some nice lean ham for tea and DH will pick up some tomatoes and salad on his way back from doing his driving thing with his Advanced Motoring instructor.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

Hello, sorry I haven't been around.
I've been very good diet wise apart from Sunday when I had dinner and pudding at mum's and then a chinese that night. So I expected to stop loosing or maybe gain a pound but seem to have gained loads. I will do a proper weigh in once my dinner has settled. But this morning when I stepped on the scales I nearly cried. And to make things worse I found my first grey hair. It's been a carp day
Well done to everyone on loosing and welcome to the newbies.LBM 04/10:j
