    Soup.

Me and OH have just whipped up 7L of chicken and veg soup (pretty much Scotch broth but no barley). We're freezing it and taking a portion each to work evey day for the next 3 weeks.

It's low cal, low carb, high in veg and very MSE :money:

Okay, I like to add a crusty roll - but that's optional ;)

(And everyone knows that chicken soup is the cure for any illness)

ETA: I managed to convince OH tonight to go in on a chicken breat marinated in Rosemary and garlic and butternut squash mash. Very good for you and equally delicious. I think he was surprised that my trying to lose weight might actually taste good for him too lol

Ooh, of course! I completely forgot about soup!!! :D Soup is great, it's really filling, and is perfect for the cold weather we're getting now! Thanks AngryBear! :) I'll have to look a few recipes up tomorrow.

I've turned into a bit of a lurker lately too!

I'm not doing too well on the weight loss front so feel a bit of a fraud posting on here :o

Me too. Really struggling to get back into eating sensibly and excercising since DD wedding. No excuse really, just find myself being tempted by all the things I love - mostly cake :o Thought that I had beaten the cravings - but they come back so easily  Still not eating bread - so thats a positive.

Also I keep signing up for the challenges - then life gets in the way and I fail miserably. Need a good kick up the ....!! OH joined the gym last week - hopefully this will encourage me to start going more often.

Annoyed with myself as this is what I always do - lose weight and then slip back into bad habits. Determined NOT to do it this time. So, I hereby promise to stop lurking and continue to post even if its just to bore people telling them how awful I have been.

I reckon I could run up that hill now but it wouldn't look very dignified!

Is there room for a little one?! (Im actually quite large so you'd have to allow quite a bit of room!)

Im desperate to lose weight, need to shift at least 100lbs to be at a good weight for my 5'10' frame. Im going on my first ever holiday in January and want to be able to walk in a bikini(I'd settle for a sexy swimming costume!)and not have a panic attack! Also, I've been accepted to run the London Marathon next April so really need to sort myself out for that. Next month I plan to buy a treadmill but for now all I have is a exercise bike. I cant get out walking much as I lead a very busy lifestyle and need to drive to numerous meetings everyday.

Any tips how to start dieting would be most appreciated.

PS; Im a sweet-a-holic, this includes every pudding on the menu to haribo :D

  • Ok I tend to Lurk too but not around as much as used to be (trying to let go a little) but have to admit like everyone else my motivation has got up and left me
Had a quick look on scales and put on too much in the past week
My new work trousers were feeling tight around the waist so I thought I needed a peek :o

Also as been out surfing alot I have not been running and was mortified when I couldn't even finish 30 mins last week :( So I have given myself a big kick up the Bottom and went back to week 6 of the C25K plan yesterday. Also need to stop all the snacking I have found myself doing.

We made pumpkin soup yesterday and like angry bear have frozen some to take to work for lunches. So I hope to try and turn myself around again in the next few weeks.

So If we all kick each other up the bottom maybe we can all get back on the wagon and get back into action loose weight ........ who is with me ??
    Restarting C25K in 2014 - Week 8 - 1/3 completed

Need to loose 25lb / 3lb lost so far :(

Hello! I'm vicki. Where are you going on holiday? You know you can go to the beach now, everybody is thinking about what they look like to worry about anyone else!

Good luck for the london marathon too! Have you started training yet? I really would like to give that a go one year, its one of those personal challenges i have with myself that i need to do! I'm such a rubbish runner, but im slowly trying to build it up gradually in time.

I don't follow a plan, but i try to control my portions and what i eat. A lady called Margaretclare on here does the dunkan diet or whatever its called, and she has had success with that. Perhaps she can help!

    Good luck!
