Good evening everyone
Welcome newbies :hello:
Belated :bdaycake: Pink
:bdaycake: Elacla
Congrats to any other anniversaries/birthdays missed.
Been busy getting organised for gong away with the 'van for 5 days. Big rally with entertainment, so looking forward to it.
Also been spoiling myself from the 70% sale at Debenhams, a size smaller:T:T scales not showing massing movements, but the middle certainly had shrunk. Decided to look at some "nicer" tops, etc., but getting them from the sale.
Just cooked all the veg up, will freeze what we haven't eaten so it is not wasted. Just left a Butternut Squash, and that will last until next week.
Plans now set for the BBQ next Saturday for my 60th (birthday not until the 15th) but Saturday a better day. Prayers now for fine weather for the evening of the 13th.
Right, better go and have another bash at the back bedroom, did clear some of it up earlier, can now see the settee, must have it clear for next week, and when we get back, then it is a little busy again.
I though retirement was supposed to be restful.
((hugs)), Hi-5's, Spoons, to all.
Take care - DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -

They do kiss. Perhaps you just haven't found the right one yet. Mr Pink is 47 and we've been together for 31 years and we still manage at least one or two fabulous kisses every day.....it does annoy the kids though!

My 2 DD's were easy peasy
You just have to wait until they're ready. I thought potty training was dead easy because my eldest DD was 18 months old when she was out of nappies and it took a week. After a couple of accidents in her new pants she realised they were not nappies and was fine after that.
Then came my DS. He didn't want to know until he was 3, then when we did eventually get him out of nappies, a couple of weeks later he demanded to be allowed to wear them again :rotfl:- obviously because it was much easier than going to the loo. He had 'accidents' for a long time after. I say 'accidents' because he would deliberately poo in his pants. Up to year 2 he would sometimes poo in his pants - usually when we were walking home from school . One day he did it during school time because he didn't want to stop what he was doing. He was given spare clothes to change into and presented me with a bag with his own in. He hadn't emptied the solids into the toilet :eek: (sorry for TMI :rotfl:)
DD2 was 3 before she showed any inclination to be out of nappies, but again with her it was quick when it happened.0 -
Re Kisses, Rogs & men in general. & potty training.
Ok I've changed it to frogs now.
I was told by a relationship counsellor, that men are genetically wired to want sex, so men talk when they can't kiss & cuddle you & they kiss & cuddle when they can't fcuk you, once they can fcuk you, they stop talking & kissing & cuddling, BUT, only if you let them.
I'm also a firm believer that you can only be treated as badly as you allow, my hubby doesn't get away with treating me badly because I don't allow it. I know I'm 5 years older than him, short & fat & losing my teeth, but I never let him forget that I'm the best thing that's ever happened to him & he better act accordingly.
If your child isn't ready to potty train at 2, leave it 6 months & try again, my 4 were dry at 3 & a half years, 22 months, 30 months & 3 years. This isn't my advice, it's the advice of a Norland trained Nanny.
Hugs Hester

Evening all,
sorry not been posting very often at the moment (again) read every day though.
Just had my hair done - its an old friend who comes to the house and only charges me £20 for a cut and colour (along with numerous coffees):D
DD2's birthday tomorrow, so we shall be ladies who lunch:D can't believe my baby will then be 25! She and her partner have moved back in with me for a few(!) months so that they can save for a deposit and we seem to be settling into a fairly good routine now - I found it a little difficult at first, after being on my own for quite a few months, but either they are learning to be tidier or I am learning to look the other way more now;)
We had a baking hot morning followed by huge thunder storms this afternoon and it certainly feels fresher now.
Have a good evening all
