    Afternoon All,

    Billy no mates here:D

Well got my bits and bobs done and managed to pick up a couple of ready readers oin Primani for £2.

I also bought a book for my DGS Oscar called Pirate Pete's Potty. He was 2 in May and my DD is really struggling to get him to even sit on the potty and believe me they have tried everything. The book has a button you can press with a cheer every time he does something good so fingers crossed.
I heard Chris Evans recommending this book and that they had used it with their son Noah so fingers crossed it will help. I don't remember it being that difficult with any of my boys but maybe I have just forgotten. Any ideas much appreciated.
Well back to my book 'Smooth Talking Stranger' by Lisa Keyplas. I am loving it.
Started Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.
Working hard to get rid of our debt.

No matter HOW much I cut back, economise, avoid, do without, save - something always comes up to wipe out the savings hoard ...

    Recently it's been

    1) the toaster - dead in a shower of sparks - new one 20 quid.

    2) the washing machine motor - 160 quid BIG owww

    3) the vaccuum cleaner - 37 quid

    4) the laptop - I'm now using my son's. Do I spend 40 quid just in case it's recoverable, or cut my losses and go for new? (Which means using my son's when he's not on it)

    5) a car tyre - possible slow puncture, haven't dared look today ... and probably needs a new tyre. To you madam, 100 quid after fitting, balancing and VAT - and that's if I'm lucky ..

WHERE does all this money come from? I try and do without machinery, but I have no river bank close by for the washing, I can do toast under the grill, but it's not just for me, ditto vac, and I use the car for ferrying grandchildren from time to time as well as me and the shopping - can't get all of us on a bike!

It's completely the same in our house...

How old is the laptop? And what is it doing? Maybe post on the IT board with description... if they suspect it's mother board and the laptop is older just get a new one..

    Hi susyrosy,

I know just how you feel, we had a period recently where lots of things seemed to go 'bang' at once! I think it happens to everyone at some stage or other. I've added your post into the daily thread where Old Stylers chat about the ups and downs of their lives. I hope things get better for you soon. :)

    Hi all

    Welcome ABDA

Hi Susyrosy this happened to me when my marriage broke up and everything went at once, all you can do is breathe and carry on.

Well I've been to see my Mum, had a long chat to the police and the manager of the housing scheme my Aunt is in and it just gets worse. All the cheques are made out to my Aunt's carer, my Aunt can barely see but she can sign her name all the cheques have been signed by her but someone else has filled them in. It also looks like this person has been stealing her food. I have no idea what else is missing but I guess her jewellry has gone. Am going up with Mum and Dad tomorrow to meet the police at 1pm and then we will be there when the police interview my Aunt, along with the deputy manager. My Aunt has no idea we're coming, she's will be terribly upset. I am so angry. My Aunt is a very simple soul, if she was a child today she would probably be diagnosed as having mild learning disabilities. She had no idea how much money she had in her bank account as she never checks her statements.

REDRUBY sorry to hear about your Dad, hope he's back on his feet soon.

    Catch you later folks

  • What is it with the weather. It was really hot and sticky this morning and now it's chucking it down and thundering. Typical as we were going to have a BBQ.

Not making a quiche but have just made a lemon merangue pie and Mum and Dad are here for their tea

Went to my interview, i think it went well , but it was one of those where you have no idea lol. But will find out before the end of the week.
