Morning everyone
Very warm and sunny here this morning. DH up and off to work early but not stupid early o'clock, so he brought me a nice cuppa before he left. Have already put a load of washing out on the line, wash basket is empty at the moment (not sure for how long though!) there is a small pile of ironing so need to get that done at some point.
Dinner last night was fish, chips/jacket, b/beans/veg - was quick easy and not too heavy as it was still very warm at 7pm last night. Will collect the boys from MIL after work, so the peace here will be shattered! Tonight dinner will be pie, mash and veg for the menfolk and fish again for me (I prefer fish to meat to be honest so love nights' when I can cook some kind of fish for me!).
Just looked at the temperature and it's 24 degrees in my dining room already and it's not 8am yet - think it's going to be a hot one again!
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Morning all
RR - poor dad, hope he recovers soon.
It's finally gloriously sunny here after being rainy and grey all week. Think I'll have to re-jig my plans for work kids today so we can get out in the sunshine
Also tonight I may go to an outdoor Shakespeare play. It depends on if the weather holds, whether there are still tickets, and whether anyone wants to come with me! It's normally good fun, everyone takes picnics and you can hire deckchairs for £1
OS wise - DW been on and emptied, WM will go on later with a washable rug and some other bits. More packing to be done if I'm home.
Have a good day all

Jannyannie - thats so awful about your aunt. What a horrible person must have done that.
I woke up in complete fog this morning. It was just like being drunk. My husband laughed so much when I poured milk all over the counter instead of in my tea. Still waking up so have to respell every word I type! I went to bed at half past ten too so don't quite understand it. Plan for today is to try to look normal all day and then come home and crash.

Good morning,
It's not that hot here, so we are still sleeping well. The sky is just white cloud at the moment - fine by me as long as it stays dry so the children and cats can play out
It's shopping day today, which will be done with a list and with speed as the house elf isn't keen. He's not really that interested in food shopping. I will be on the lookout for anything cheap to add to my store cupboard. A$da's fig biscuits have gone up in price from 40p in April to 50p in June and were 65p last week. They are now crossed off the "things to buy" list!
I may do some baking today, and need to do some washing. I've just added another big handful of blueberries to the pot in the freezer and need to do something with the beetroot that we've grown sometime soon.
RR hope your dad is OK.
JackieG hope your day is as stress free as possible, in spite of your "to do" list.
Take care all of you.0 -
Morning All
Another one who didn't get much sleep last night.
Set to be very hot again today but with thunderstorms, but so far it is cloudy.
Went to the doctor's last night and she has doubled my diuretics again and so I am now on 80mcg which is quite high, and if my legs are still swollen after a month I have to go back, but she doesn't seem to know what is causing my hands and legs to be so swollen all the time.
Not much planned for today because if it is as hot as yesterday, I won't have the energy.
jannyannie......... How awful to hear that your Aunt has had her account compromised, it makes me so angry when the elderly are targeted by unscrupulous scammers. I hope that she can get things sorted.
Redruby... Sorry to hear about your Dad. ((((Hugs)))).
Well I am off for a nice shower
Have good days all xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Morning all,
It was too hot y/day to linsead the garden furniture, it kept evaporating, so I went shopping. Got 2 ys S&K pies that I've cooked and packed up for DH's lunch. A gala melon for 40p and 2 large packs of neck of lamb for £3. Came home and turned the lamb into a curry.
Must go to the P.O today and post some presents to my DNeice, she had a baby boy last week. They have called him,,, wait for it,,,,,,
Fox, yup Fox !! What the Fox were they thinking of ?? Poor lad.
More ironing today and I must pot up a dwarf date palm my DB1 bought me, although it's a dwarf it's nearly 5ft high. I went to B&Q and found a pot big enough but its £25. I'll get DH to buy it today to get 10% off.
We are lucky to be able to sleep through this heat because the thick stone walls keep the cottage cool so unlike most we never open the windows as it lets the heat in. I do feel for those of you who can't sleep, I'd be grumpy all day.
TAPLADY, hope the hosp app goes well, at least you have a night out to look forward to.
UBA, I've always wanted to go to the Tatoo, have a great time.
MOLLY, Why are you eating a frog  ?
JANNY, that's terrible, hope it gets sorted.
REDRUBY, your poor Dad, hope the pain eases soon.
Looks like I'm gonna be on my own here next week with so many off on their hols, have fun.0 -
Morning All,
RR your poor dad ouch ((hugs))
Jannyannie there are some horrible people out there who would do that, the mind boggles
I have the same window problem, if we close it its red hot but if its open the birds and the cockerel on the farm wake us up, plus at this time of year the smell from the muckspreading is awful.
Need to get out and about today. I am having real problems with my eyes. I wear the ready readers which I am relying on more and more they are all over the house but tend to be scratched from being thrown in and out of my bag. I really don't want to wear them around my neck I feel like an old lady but I spend my life hunting for specs. I think I probably need to wear glasses all the time but I really don't want to, the joys of getting older. Anyway must pick up some more this morning.
Tea tonight will be something with chicken probably salad as its so warm. I have stuck to the walking with DH and tonight will be day 7:T even though I can't say I have had the same success with healthy eating:o
Very different summer hols with My DS3 normally its me and him pottering about and keeping busy as the others are all grown up but this time he is sleeping in until about 11.30 then off out with his mates in the afternoon and home for tea and then off out again in the evening but he is 15 so after years of a gaggle of kids in the holidays I will have to get used to being Bill no mates:D
Anyway caffeine beckons, have a good day all J xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

It refers to a book called Eat the Frog by Brian Tracy, it's from Matrix thread. Basically picking your worst job of the day and doing it FIRST! Go on Molly eat that frog

Made sure I was in bed by 10.30pm and slept til 6.30am with no interuptions from kids for once. Feel quite good today as a result so here's hoping they keep it up.
It's my parents 43rd Wedding Anniversary today, am impressed as I pointed out to my mum you get less time for murderSo dropped a card round last night and I might see if they want to pop round for a coffee tonight as they are off to hidecote gardens today.

Spent £62 on 2 ski jackets and a pair of ski gloves for me and the kids. I knew I shouldn't have been browsing the Preparing for Winter thread :rotfl:
