Morning all....((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))))))) if you need one.
After pouring with rain for most of yesterday its fine this morning, but rain due again tomorroe which is a pain. We have just taken over a walled veg garden and should have gone yesterday, switched to Thirsday and now it looks as if thats a no no too.
OH volunteers at a local garden so he is off there this morning, quilt group for me after lunch.
Just taken some gammon out of the freezer for supper tonight, will do a salad with it.
No frogs for me, I got myself into a routine when we moved back into a house 2 years ago, Bedrooms and bathroom on Monday, Sitting room and kitchen Friday. I can (and do) miss the odd week, but with just the two of us it does not get too bad.
Laundry is a bit of a problem in that we have no facilities for drying washing, I bought a dryer which along with the washer I use on the Econ 7 tarrif at night, so over night wash on Monday dried over night on Tuesday. I tried drying stuff on an airer but it took so long to dry it needed washing again.......in the winter its not such a problem as we have two storage heaters, so the airer can go in the sitting room over night.
Talking about odd names for babies a friends great grandson is called River, I had visions of mother standing on the step and it sounding like she was calling the dog (Rover).0 -

What gets me about these illiterates is they seem to be often middleaged businessmen.. makes you wonder how they managed to get that far?:cool:What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
Hi everyone,
sistercas, hopefully life will return to normal soon and I'll be back on the GC in September.
Jannyannie, Your poor aunt. I can't understand how anyone can do that to an elderly person.
redruby,I hope your Dad isn't in too much pain. Sending you lots of hugs.
taplady, Hope the hospital appointment goes well and that you enjoy your meal out tonight.
Betheebee, it's good to see you posting again.
Thank you so much for the birthday wishes yesterday. I was very touched that you remembered as I rarely post on the daily these days. :A
I didn't celebrate my birthday at all and asked my family to ignore it as we booked a last minute holiday on Saturday (leaving this Thursday:eek:) and between work, organising the holiday and sorting school uniforms because there won't be time when we get back, I just didn't have a spare minute to do anything else. So I'm pretending I'm like the Queen (at my age that kind of thing is allowed) and having an unofficial birthday next Tuesday in the Caribbean. So not much Old Style going on here at all....chaos reigns! The only comfort is that if we get burgled while we're away the burglers will take one look at the house and think we've already been burgled!
Thank you all again........you made my day!

Morning all. Inspired by Frith and her dates I decided to have another look at my dating website account to see if anything half decent was in there- hope springs eternal as there hasnt once in the 10 yrs since i joined and thought i'd share with you this email which might amuse and go some way to explaining what I seem to attract and why i havent found anyone on there..
It was entitled hihi and was supposedly from a 41 yr old man.
deg a luk at my profail its a fanda si pot wod laik do get to no your maind do
That's it in total. I mean I dont understand a blessed word of it.. and the odd thing is when you check the profile (no pic of course they never seem to have pics or if they do its of their meat and 2 veg) it seems to be rather eloquent..???
Anyone got any ideas as to how to decipher this? I have no clue why they do this surely communication is the first basic rule/step when dating..hes not a teen and he's not black and trying to talk street as far as I can tell - assuming his personal details are true.I'm not an interpreter. Maybe hes speaking his own language like Liz Fraser in the Cocteau Twins used to sing lol
and that's a bad thing why?:whistle::think::think:It could eliminate the tiddlers IYSWIM:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
i'D PUT NO CYBER SEX, AND NO RUDE PICS ON MY PROFILE[STRIKE]That way you're guaranteed to get more[/STRIKE];);)"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Reverbe, your post made me laugh, I have a divorced friend who is on various dating sights, she gets the same sort of thing, explicit pics & illiterate messages, the other thing she gets a lot of is 'single' men who can only meet on Wednesday afternoons, lol.
Keep on trying though, I also have 2 or 3 friends who are now happily married to people they met online.

And another one I joined a few weeks ago to get a free phone sock which never arrived just seemed to glean ancient men in their 40s 50s and even 60s!! OMG WHY would i want to date a man old enough to be my father??
I must just attract the loonies or desperate and not anyone worth having which is ironic cos I joined cos I didnt seem to meet anyone IRL.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::eek:What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0 -
Reverbe, just remember you have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince.
I found mine when I was 50!

Afternoon all!
Have been reading sporadically and trying to keep up!
Beth - Lovely to see you back, notice you're still doing in a day what I might manage in a good week lol! Hope Ben is well xx
RR - ouchy, your poor dad, thinking of you all xx
JA - what a rotten thing to do, I hope your aunt is not too upset and that the culprit is caught with all haste and duly punished xx
Life continues much as usual here, with the addition of the small pink one to cuddle and love! Today I've done a couple of loads of washing, and dried them on the line as the sun is shining on Somerset today, ferried ds into local town to see a friend - he is currently unable to ride his scooter as he has sprained his elbow (I've never heard of anyone doing that before, he has to be an original, still at least nothing was broken!), daft twit was showing off on his sister's skateboard! Going to pick him up later and have a coffee with his friend's mum, though think it's just an excuse for her to get a cuddle with Spud! dd1 has been tidying her room and ploughing through her washing, dd3 has dug over and reseeded the front lawn patch that died off, was buried under the old sitting room and dining room carpets until they went to the tip! dd2 has gone off to spend her birthday money and vouchers with friends in Bristol!
Picked some veg this morn, and more is almost ready, so think that the raised beds will actually have paid for themselves this year, the only thing that has been hopeless was the peas, but then I never seem to succeed with those whatever I do!
Planning to do a spot of sewing this aft, and improve my crochet skills if I can find the patience! Remaining OS stuff will involve hoovering (my turn on the rota - dd3 drew one up and it's worked brilliantly!), cooking something mince based for dinner - possibly apple and pork burgers or mini meatballs, veg pie for dd1 and me, and putting away all the washing!
Hope everyone has a fab day xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000
