Hi, this is the Daily Thread for xx (add date). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
I've been up for over an hour, can't sleep as it's too hot, we have a choice here, we either can't sleep because of the heat or we can open the windows & can't sleep because of the trains thundering past all night.
Kettles on, I'm just about to make hubby & cuppa & then start cooking breakfast.
Plans for today include taking a friend to the Dr's, she can't drive afterwards & maybe doing some houswork, I also need to pick some more veggies.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good morning HH, JackieO and all to follow,
Lovely bright morning here at the moment.
Will strip beds and wash bedding as soon as DH surfaces.
Smoked haddock fish cakes today with hg spinach. Cooked the mixture yesterday and it is firming up in the fridge overnight. I shall egg and breadcrumb it later.
I seem to be spending a lot of time on life but achieving little. Think it is too hot to sleep properly and then not so full of energy for the daytime.
Going on holiday in 8 days. I was thiking yesterday that we will have at least one person from each decade from 10 to 69!!
Have a good Wednesday, with hugs, cheers, Silver xOutside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

Morning all!
I can't sleep, far too hot! OH left for work ages ago. We went out for dinner last night with friends which was nice. But feel the need to stay in for a while now.
Oh Aunt flow arrived yesterday! So definately not preggers! Feel terrible now though, and bloated.
Not sure what to do for my lunch today as i'm not hungry but can't go out at lunch so need to take something with me.
off to catch up on yesterday's thread!Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Morning all
need to start winding myself up to get organised as we go away for a week on Saturday - Edinburgh Tattoo here we come - I am childishly excited!
Am missing DS 11 a huge amount - he's back Friday night from his Walsingham youth pilgrimage - just enough time to put him and his kit through the wash before we go away as a family.
Still in shock about having to pay out £587 to my college for the year's course I've just signed up to - and that's only a third!!! They wanted that amount each month for the first three months. After some fairly stern (and slightly sarcastic) words they have agreed to every other month, which I still think is taking the pee - why not one payment a term. Oh well, had to be done.
Nice news from Taplady about food prices coming down - as I only supermarket shop once a month I've really seen a difference each four weeks has made on prices.
Boring housey things to do this morning - coffee with a friend this afternoon.
Hope all have a really productive day.0 -
Oh yeah! Huge thanks guys - posted cheque through the door at the bank, it's safely in my account.Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Good Morning x
I need to shake myself into action this morning. A very humid night despite the rain and looking hot and humid again today.
Hoping to see Mooloo today. The washing machine is on (of course) and I need to do some sorting for my holiday next week and eat a frog and make a phone call
Will catch up with you all later xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -

Lovely day here JACKIEO enjoy your day in Broadstairs, hope the tide is out so you can go rockpooling.
BRAMBLE dreaming of being pregnant or a baby is supposed to signify new beginnings, hopefully better things are coming your way soon.
Had some distressing news from my Mum yesterday, that my Aunt who is 85 has had £8000 stolen from her bank account. Someone has been taking odd cheques and cashing them. I am livid . She lives in sheltered housing and doesn't see too well. Will be going up next week to see the police and in the meantime her account has been blocked.
Off in a mo to do Mum's cleaning. Then plan to go blackberrying. Tea is a pasta dish off the menu planner. The house is pretty clean and tidy as I did all the ironing yesterday, just need to deal with paperwork and spend 15 minutes spot cleaning. Made some choc chip cookies for my neighbours boy as it was his birthday yesterday. They went in seconds!
Have a good day all and big hugs to all who need one.

Good and eat a frog and make a phone call
Will catch up with you all later xx
What ??? why are you eating frogs ??
Morning all,
Hot and humid here too, Hester we have a simalar problem, I leave the windows open all night, only to be woken at 4ish in the morning by the birds  so disturbed sleep either way.
Off to work today, busy there which is always good, the tiles are being delivered today for the new bathroom :j ordered the shower last night, so its all coming together, I am ridiculously excited about getting rid of the grotty old one
Quiche for dinner, might get dd to do some wedges with it, we had mash last night, and the spuds did not mash well, they had tiny lumps in, so dinner was not the best.
My dear old dad had another fall monday night, and has fractured his hip, apparantly its not a normal fracture, and he is in lots of pain, they are keeping him in while they make a decision of where to put him, my mum cannot lift him without hurting his hip, so its either a hospital stay or a nursing home. Will go and see him once he is settled down.
Taplady, hope all goes well today xxx
Jackie O enjoy your day out xx
Jackie G not long now :j
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning All,
Its dry this morning, fingers crossed it will stay like that, I have a lot on today, still haven't dyed my hair  I have to go get a bra, get some money from the Credit Union, and collect the kilts. Its my sister's birthday today, I hope she manages to relax a bit and have a good day.
That's awful news about your aunt Jan, hope they can figure out who is doing it.
EDIT Redruby, so sorry to hear about your dad, poor man, and your poor mum too, it must be becoming quite overwhelming for her and you.
Hugs spoons and hi fives all round!
