Agree Horace - get creative and tick their boxes for them. "Much easier to beg forgiveness than to ask permission"

Greenbee - a Surgeon friend once told me that his colleague was an anaesthetist cos he failed the "bedside manner" module and was only allowed to work with people who were asleep. Didn't stop him gazing starry eyed at him during their civil ceremony two years later though:rotfl: Mmmm! wonder if drugs were involved then too??

I have just read Martin's weekly MSE email and discovered that I can claim unspent clubcard vouchers from Tesco - I have found out that I have £30 in unspent vouchers and have just printed them out:cool: Some of these vouchers go back to 2009:eek:

Anyway, just wanted to mention that because the Matrixettes might be able to do the same.

Horace - I always turn down pain relief and the nurses always think I'm strange. I used to suffer from chronic pain, so nothing much registers now. It's not always a good thing though... Like you, I have been known to keel over, as I don't feel anything until they've gone too far :) I do feel pain when I'm tired though...

MG - the male anaesthetist was very nice to look at (my mother pointed this out to me...) :D but obviously decided he knew better than me... Female anaesthetist had a fairly blunt manner, but TBH I prefer that to charm...

Horace, good luck with the job, I hope you do get it, you have tried so hard.

You need to have a wander over at the Make £10 a day thread again, you don't need to join in, just have a read, lots of new stuff knocking around.

Personally am striking on Wednesday as I think this is the thin end of the wedge and they are already trying to scrap final salary scheme this time in favour of career average. Am having a carp day today - boss texted me at 6.10am this morning:mad::mad::mad: to ask for my planning so I have duly left it at home and told him what I think of being woken up at that time - stupid man. Roll on my weekend away.

I am with you Dora.I belong to a union that has NEVER called its members out on strike until this year - speaks volumes. I lost £150 last time and I would do it again. I will NOT be Christmas shopping BTW. When I came into teaching over 25 years ago, having worked and trained hard to get where I am, paid a lot of money into my pension, I would have expected to be able to take early retirement in 5 years time. Instead I am looking at another 16 years when I will be closer to 70 rather than 60. As I explained to one disgruntled parent ( who thought we where striking for more pay !) would they want their children to be taught by 70 year olds because that is what it is moving towards.

Presentation wsent well. I didn't get the funding - thought that I will be really upset but I am not. There is this feeling that something else is coming my way.
