Great new Marru... Now if you can get their for April I may visit as I have a work trip then :)

Moam - glad it went well. And if you need a challenge, feel free to come and organise me.

    Good luck on Friday FW.

Claire - REST please. It may be boring, but you'll wear yourself out.

I do not plan on doing anything else for the rest of the week

  • Love the recipe MG - but for the non breadmakers amongst us? I prefer my trusty Kenwood Chef & hands... so what do I do at the beginning?

    thanks!

Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

Asked my bruv (the chef one obviously not the Chartered Accountant one :D)

He says bung it on like a normal loaf?????? 20 years in the trade and that's what he gives me :rotfl:

The dough cycle mixes the dough up and kneads it until the gluten begins to stretch then keeps it warm till it doubles in size ...... so......

mix it by hand / kenwood and leave it to knead for ten minutes then keep warm till doubled - I guess however you would normally do a wholemeal bread recipe.

They are mega cheap to make - and OMG!!! I just looked at how much they are selling for in Mr T

Four for £2.00 ................!!!!!!!!! They are only bleeding bread!!!!

Scuse me I think I need to go and have a wee lie down:rotfl:

Just remembered we are out of bread - thanks for the timely reminder - am on a 'we are not buying any more bread cos we have a breadmaker' crusade which even dh is admitting makes sense.

Had a fab shop at Mr M's last night got there just as butcher was reducing meat to silly amounts so freezer is well stocked with all different cuts of steak - dh was amazed at a huge piece of sirloin reduced from £6.45 to 39p. And had homemade pitta pizzas that kids declared amazing and 'better than real pizzas' so they are definitely on menu again. Haven't spent anything on food since big shop last week (maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel) and haven't bought any cheese which normally appears to be eaten by mice who live in my fridge as it has never been eaten by eanyone who lives here:rotfl:

Dora I have the same problem with vanishing cheese - I have resorted to buying cheese when there is no-one home and grating it on the big bit of the grater then freezing.

Although they can go to the fridge for snacks - they never think of going in to the freezer (worst culprit is my Dad who doesn't eat breakfast, so on a Saturday pops in after golf and can hoover up loads of cheese in seconds) Now instead of lumps on biscuits he can have toast n cheese or baked potato (although now I make sure there is a pot of soup just warming when he comes in)

Still it is saving me a couple of quid a week (and on my budget that is loads)

Right got Mrs B's recipe - so I am off to soak a cup of green lentils in warm water until later. The lentil and walnut loaf takes an hour to bake so will make it later on.

They are switching on the lights in our wee town tonight - so hopefully the rain will stop lashing down today. A nice warm dinner and then home to a cost bed is in order for little people I think.

Marru - that is fab news - may I come and stay in Finland? It would be great to have a proper sauna with birch twigs:D

I have my food hygiene course this afternoon and exam and next week I have booked onto a Team Leading course - just want the bit of paper to say that I can do it.

Dinner last night was the last of my boiled brisket (slowcooked) - too lazy to freeze it so cooked it up whilst out yesterday and then baked a spud and that afterwards.

Not much happening here - I have found out about jobs but some places make it so darn difficult to apply as their application forms are in pdf read only format that you have print off, write on, scan and then email. What also annoyed me was the fact that I mentioned a disability and was then spoken to loudly and very slowly as though I was stupid:mad: Do I want to work for them if they have that attitude?

Traipsed around for drugs yesterday - discovered that there are manufacturing problems so no-one has the ear drops prescribed by my gp so I had to ring and now I have to go in and get a prescription for something else.

Flat tidying still going on - I had better get a wriggle on as I need to go out (not had lunch yet) and I need to get some soup out of the freezer for dinner tonight (I can cook it in Ping).

Have a great day all - hugs to those that are in need.

    .

I don't think so:eek: That attitude is so patronising and if their staff are using it they haven't been properly trained in diversity and I think that says a lot for the company attitude.
