Well silver lining and all killer cat has just waltzed in, unpeturbed by the blitz going on outside. Honestly I dont know why I worry!

Hope you've all been enjoying the fireworks!! DH and I have been to a little show and off to the pub. Oops forgot dinner :D As a Northern Irish person I can never work out if November 5th is celebrating Guy's revolutionary plotting or the fact that he failed?! (We don't have Guy Fawkes' night).

Supposed to be celebrating his failure although I suspect many will be supporting the revolution ;)

Despite the fact that there are things I can't find amongst the current upheaval, I think I'm pretty much packed... Work clothes, evening stuff, jeans/tshirts/tops for non-work days, jewellery, make up, 5 pairs of shoes including trainers :o swimming stuff (nearly forgot it) and supplements. Mac and pashmina are ready. Think I might shove a lightweight long coat in too. Just need to sort out laptop bag... Which also has toiletries and also space for my handbag. I need to remember to put nail polish in my liquids bag.

Taxi arrives at 9am tomorrow, by which time the kitchen needs to be tidy, as do bedroom and sitting room, the bins and recycling done, and note put out for the cleaner. These shouldn't take too long, but it does mean getting up on time :D I'll need a siesta by the time we get to Barcelona. I'll be back late on Saturday but hope to keep up with you all while I'm away...

Wow Greenbee! It's reassuring to hear of someone else who deals with last minute things at the real last minute!

Barcelona is my favourite European city. Have a tapas or two or three or ten on my behalf.

Having said that, I do remember when people expressed envy at my jet setting lifestyle and I knew that it consisted or delays at airports, anonymous hotels, a rush to get to meetings, b-o-r-i-n-g meetings, more food than I was comfortable with, more alcohol ditto, regret that the people I really wanted to talk with were not available (or had managed to skip the whole caboodle) and . . . .

    exhaustion when I arrived home.

    Retirement has its advantages!
But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?

DH and I have been somewhat shaken by the accident as it is quite local to us. I had to drive the M5 but north this morning and I was a lot more wary of the drive than I would normally be! TMIF - do you live in the southwest then?

    Yes, plymouth :-)

Erm, lemon oil is photo toxic. I personally wouldn't put it in a a lip balm that would be exposed to sunlight on a person's lips. And lime can be as well, depending on how it was harvested. And I think tangerine has *sometimes* been reported to be photo toxic as well.

Thanks for the heads up on that, it's made me do a bit more research.
I've found that lime and tangerine are safe if distilled instead of cold pressed but even lemon is okay when it is less than 2% of the recipe which I should imagine it would be, not being able to convert drops into ml without having the stuff in front of me.
I like Bitsy's idea of using lemon balm, I've grown that before now.

Morning all - enjoying a quiet hour or so before starting chopping wood again - well its abit anti-social to begin cutting at this time on a Sunday morning.

So loaded the WM, Bread on, batter for pancakes made, bathroom cleaned, hoover pulled out for later.

So now a bit of menu planning is on the cards and a cutting list for the dividing wall. I am creating DS1's bedroom AND the eventual new showeroom walls all in one go. I have got 2 doors so I am thinking that my storecupboard can be moved up into the "Showerroom" so that the store can be turned into a walk in closet for one letting room.

Well it makes sense in my head LOL

It is truly amaing how much can get done when you are childless for a day.
