Horrid thing MG - but I bet most of the charge they were charging was for labour - 5 hours of someone's time sat around waiting for things to happen!Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

It sounds as if everone has had a really productive weekend.
MG - I am really impressed central heating servicing too. It makes me really angry when they take advantage of vulnerable people.
Was selling glow sticks and sweeties at our firework display (guiding and scouting) last night, made a good profit on that, just hoping the food and drink made some money as well this all goes to the upkeep of our meeting hut so fingers crossed
The weather has been kind today and we got our carbooting done. All I have left is a couple of boxes of stuff to ebay and some bits for the charity shop that just would not be good for posting
Being out in the sunshine has really done me good. It has taken my mind off of how cr**py life can be and all he stuff I trying to sort for people at the minute.
Tomorrow will be busy, will see SIL and order stuff from seed catalogue for allotment. Then hopefully friend who has been having chemo over the weekend will be allowed home and we can get her comfortable.
Still haven't got very far with my planning for this month, I must get organised this week or I will be behind before I even start.:oMy finances are work in progress.Normal veiwing will resume shortly0 -

I've missed that you are away. It doesn't sound like your home city, anyway? Thanks Cheery, I also really enjoyed reading that. I have been in need of a reminder that you bring your own future into action a little bit at a time.
I have that site bookmarked and read it from time to time. I do think that reminder is a good one.
I hope all are well. Lots of hammering going on at Chez MG. Sounds fun!But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -
Ok MG please tell me your secret. How do you prioritise your time? For next month I really need to study but after that there are half a dozen projects that I want/need to do. How the heck am I going to find the time/allocate the time do get them done?"Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

True - and I would quite happily be paid that kind of money to sit watching water trickle out of a hosepipe :rotfl:
I think it was probably a two hour job - only I was doing it around building studs, collecting boys, making dinner and ironing.
Been around to check on her this morning (Country lady so she is up early) and the house is toasty. Five minutes to bleed one radiator and she is set - just as well as it is VERY frosty here this morning.
Good deed for the day done - now back to the "real" work

Well done on sorting the "Old Dear out. It is amazing how much they charge. My central heating is on its way out, and we go through that process each year to try and make it last a bit longer; I know that at some point I will need a new boiler but its not top of the list at the moment. Although I pay friend of DS £10 + food + beer to do it! He's out of work at the moment, and i would pay him more if I could afford it.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

I figured out long ago that you can't do everything ALL of the time.
So I have a "schedule" of the things that MUST be done, then a weekly list of things I would LIKE to do, and a separate list in my book of "projects" I would like to complete.
One the "MUST's" are organised I choose one project at a time and schedule the time to do that ( like the sofa project, writing the script over the summer and building the bedroom right now). This becomes my "magnificent obsession" until it is done and dusted, taking the bulk of my productive time. In the spaces that are left I schedule the stuff I would LIKE to do to make sure I am always moving from my big project to stuff I am motivated to complete.
So at any one time I have one big project on the go, the basics of keeping house and home together and a few fun things to do in my "down-time"
Sounds complicated, but seems to be working so far as I am not concentrating on too many things at any one point. The "projects" just get lined up for me to move onto when I have a block of clear time.
So if your BIG goal is to write a book - you would make that your project and schedule the time to get to your dream first after the "MUST do's" - which for me are things like feeding and collecting the boys etc, pretty much everything else is a "LIKE"
Does that even make sense?
