Blimey MG you go girl! DH is working today so going to flit between house and schoolwork as I have two tired and bonfired out children this morning.
Got to sort and stash summer clothes away, empty car out and sort lots of paperwork for house and school, menu plan, make bread, clean truffle's cage, and is sunny so might get some gardening done too!Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Wow MG, you're rockin this morning girl! :T :T
I woke up in a vile mood this morning, lots of things running round my head, so got up and cleaned the kitchen then made myself sit in the chair under the window until I felt better.
I do now, so I feel a list and a bit of moving coming on! :j :j
Claudiac - if it helps, we've just replaced our front door - the old one was an internal door (just one of the chipboard-with-a-hole-in ones). We didn't use it to go in and out of, didn't open it at all in fact - but it had been there for over 20 years (since before Mr Daffs bought the house) and had only just started to rot a little at the bottom in the last year or so.
If you can't afford a new door, and your old one is broken/damaged or whatever, then I say stick in whatever one you've got - yes you may have to replace it in a year or two (or 20) but it beats going into debt for it now!
(I'm sure someone else will have a 'do it properly' point of view (which is probably more sensible) but thought I'd throw one in from the 'It'll probably be fine' side too)

Wow Greenbee! It's reassuring to hear of someone else who deals with last minute things at the real last minute!
Barcelona is my favourite European city. Have a tapas or two or three or ten on my behalf.
Having said that, I do remember when people expressed envy at my jet setting lifestyle and I knew that it consisted or delays at airports, anonymous hotels, a rush to get to meetings, b-o-r-i-n-g meetings, more food than I was comfortable with, more alcohol ditto, regret that the people I really wanted to talk with were not available (or had managed to skip the whole caboodle) and . . . .
exhaustion when I arrived home.
Retirement has its advantages!
You've pretty much summed it up... I've just finished packing (shoving my mac in the front of my hold bag and sticking my laptop in my backpack). I now have no idea what i've packedI can do work packing, but the non-work stuff is harder.
I have also finished tidying the utility room, emptied the DW and put everything away, done two lots of washing up and dried one, out the dehumidifier on, emptied the bins and recycling and done a bit of tidying up - so the cleaner should be able to tidy. Just need a last loo break and then I will try to remember to turn off the router.
MG - I hope there will be floor plans and diagrams at some point...0 -
Hope you've all been enjoying the fireworks!! DH and I have been to a little show and off to the pub. Oops forgot dinner
As a Northern Irish person I can never work out if November 5th is celebrating Guy's revolutionary plotting or the fact that he failed?! (We don't have Guy Fawkes' night).
((((Hugs to all)))))
As an English girl (ok girl is streching it...) living in Belfast I always feeling cheated on November 5th! Yes you have bonires in July, and fireworks on halloween now but they are supposed to be together!! on the 5th November!! lol
The city has a real buzz about it at the minute with the MTV music awards being held here tonight - DH and I are lucky enough to have free tickets to the outdoor concert at City Hall to see Snow Patrol (:j) and Jason Derulo so we have the kids minded and we're spending the afternoon and evening together outside in the real world
We have the first frost of the winter on the roof tops this morning and I'm feeling ever so slightly tingly about christmas.....
Have a good day!Climbing back on the OS wagon after a short vacation to Recklessness

You are on a roll MG
I thought about your old front door when Claudiac mentioned it Cheery, but wasn't brave enough to say it's better than a broken one lol.
Enjoy Barcelona Greenbee. I love the place.
Painting today, bought some lovely latte coloured paint and thought Oooh I like that - now its on the bedroom wall I know why - it is almost idential to the colour I used on my living room in the summer:rotfl:I know that was called something else!!
Still it looks lovely with the bargain £20 Aqua duvet set, throw, runner and cushions that I got from Mr T last month.
Sun is out again - have a lovely Sunday everyone0 -
Grrrr!!! I'm at that annoying stage when things need to be shuffled around my house in order to progress.
So I am huffing and puffing to do most of it - but will go out and borrow a man tomorrow to move my four-poster and things into the right rooms before extra walls go in. Everything can be moved around if its flat packed but that is such a faff its easier to do it this way around.
So an hour move of "shuffling" then an hour to tidy up then go and get the small people - whew!!! a shower may be needed first though LOL

Claudiac - I have an external front door lying beside my woodpile. Where are you? - if you are within reach you can have this (no good for firewood so would just be disposed of).
Let me know if you're interested
MG - remember - if you need a hand next weekend ....I'm sure I can muck in - you know me - not very bright but can lift heavy things

Awww Clootie, you are a bright shining star :A
Watch that back of yours MG, please take care with your furniture removal.
Shhhh but I think I may be getting better - veggies prepped for tea, homemade soup made for lunch, dishes done and washing sorted - all completed without having to sit down once :T. Just need to ease back up to full speed gradually.
Lovely day here, hope everyone has a good one and good luck to our two travellers, safe journeys, Thriftyxxx0 -
I'm all dust and sawdust - but will just pop off and get the boys anyways.
At least the floors are clean again and all the "dusty" stuff confined to one area. Whew!!! but there was a lot of timber to move upstairs - plod, plod, plod and loads gets done.
With a few hours of "man time" I think I can get this place ship shape for letting rooms - the game is afoot ladies!!!
Better get a wiggle on
