Horace - when you have pizza lust nothing else is going to satisfy - why not give this a go instead.
"Scone" pizza base
2oz sr flour
1 oz marg
Large pinch of salt
Milk to make soft dough
Rub the marg into the flour and salt - mix with enough milk to make a soft dough and roll out into a plate sized round.. Load on your toppings and bake until risen and cooked in the middle.
Eat in front of the telly, in fleecy jammies with beverage of choice (guess what Iam up to tonight??)

Hi all!
Hugs to those with sniffles. I had a cold but I got rid of it. You all will too.
MG: Sorry DS1 is having a hard time at school, but I am glad to hear he has people looking out for him. Could you try seeing if there are any activities he could do outside school that would boost his confidence. It would be particularly good if other kids from his year also went there so he could have the chance to get to know them outside school, and who knows, any friendships formed could transfer to the school playground.
Marru: I shall inform mummy SunFlower, the distance healer of the house about your wish. Consider vibes on your way in about an hour.
Cheery: Glad to see you got some stuff done after all.
Horace: I can see you are going to do ciabatta pizzas, but have you ever tried making your own bases as well? Just a thought...:)
FW: Good stuff about your friend.
As for me, I have interviewed someone for my non-paid 'getting myself out there' work experience, and VERY excitingly I have heard tell that there might be a bit of work available in a field related to what I would actually like to do when I grow up. :j It's day rate, not permanent and there are no guarantees, but it's a start and a foot jammed in the door, so I'm up for it!
*Waits and sees*
Hope you are all well. Take care and enjoy your evenings. xxx0 -
me too, Friday night is pizza night0

Excellent news sunflower! :T :T :T Well done you
MG! Thanks for the scone recipeI'm here on my own this evening (although Mr Daffs will appear at some indeterminate time and probably scoff whatever is available, I don't have to consider him in the planning of tea
) - scone pizza sounds pretty blooming fabulous to me :j :j :j
(actually had a very productive couple of hours myself :T :T Once I set the timer and stopped feeling sorry for myself, realised my GIANT work task boiled down to writing 3 lots of 500 words about things that we already had a lot written about, I've actually got a lot done! :T :T)
Have also booked myself hair cut and eyebrow wax for tomorrow afternoon after my 5k run and am about to embark on a nicely relaxing quiet hour of pilates in my one cosy room of the house :T :T Does that count as looking after yourself??0 -
Good idea Horace re bags for the leaves and offering on freegle - thanks - I just don't think I'll get it done before tomorrow's viewing sadly.
However - bathroom has been done, and kitchen is about to be cleaned and staged. The 25kg sack of AF gram flour is hidden in the cupboard under the stairs, and all the rest of the AF food fitted into the two under-bed boxes I bought. For a family house the kitchen is small, and the few cupboards are already full with everyday stuff.
I'll pack the car with bits for the charity shop tonight and if there's time drop it all off in the morning. But at least it will be out of the way. A quick hoovering (dyson, really) of the carpets throughout, tomorrow morning and I should be ready for viewer's ETA of 1.15pm.
Tricia I'm inclined to agree that often our bodies say "enough", or "slow down", and we ignore or over-ride at our peril. Took myself off to a local cafe for a toastie before getting back into action, and it provided just enough of a break to allow me to recoup before the next lot of elbow grease! If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Wow! That takes me back!. Back in the mid 1990s, I had serious problems relating to work and they spilled over to home - as such things do.
The only 'me' time I could wangle was to leave early for work a couple of days a week and stop off at Sainsbugs for breakfast and a read of a free newspaper. I think I wouldn't have coped without that breather. It did do the trick though.
I hope the viewing tomorrow goes well. Sending pixie dust vibes to enchant the viewers and result in a quick sale - perhaps they will be leaf lovers. I love crunching through leaves and walked up through the park opposite our house, kicking them up today. But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -
Thanks Tricia, good vibes and encouragement greatly appreciated. We seem to have used the same survival tactics lol - Sainsbugs cafe was a haunt of mine too when I was a working Mum and in the thick of full-on family life...
Kitchen now gleaming. Normally I clean it sans reading glasses, which is perfectly okay for everyday living, but for viewings all the lights AND the reading glasses go on, and I'm in Kim and Aggie mode, complete with microfibre cloths. If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Good luck Groatie, hope they'll love the place0

Sending big hugs for everyone who is feeling under the (very wet round here) weather.
Has been a long journey to this Friday so I got in toastie loaves and all the staff had warm buttery toast at break today to keep us going so I am now everyone's bessie mate
DH has grabbed some overtime tonight so ds is bathed, dd is watching her portable dvd player that she has bought today after months of chores and saving up, and I am off to bed at the same time as them - although I do intend to read the last time I did this I was probably asleep before them:o Agree with Firewalker about the bodies thing, I always plan to completely relax and have pj days at the start of school holidays so that I don't succumb to 'teacher's weekend' - where we end up suffering with every germ from school our bodies have fended off all term!Mortgage £119,533 going down slowly

Thank you ladies, got me through the day.
I was just so cross as I said to my manager how poorly I feel and she suggested to go for a walk - had it been me I would have sent myself home.
Then sent text BF to say I am poorly and he just said he will be later so I was left to deal with DD. I felt like the boat painting was more important than me.
And then DD wanted to stay at school for the firework display when I was dying to get home and was crying and tantruming in the car.
She has now had some fun with her birthday pressie, BF is here to sort her to bed and he has brought some food. Life should carry on."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."
