Hospital appointment over and done - all is well for now. Practice in positivity as I understand it:

...a hospital visit is not very pleasant irrespective of what it is for; hospitals are depressing and smell of ...well, they smell. To make it a more positive experience (and safe time) I walked back and then some...and whilst walking I did my matra (there is more to me...).

It is decidedly wet and chilly in lincolnshire today.

Good news about switched on teachers. my ds had a really supportive male teacher in year 6 and was one of the best times he had while he was in school.

Can't believe it is Friday already:eek:

((hugs)) for those diagnosed with cancer, a friend of mine has been newly been diagnosed this week and is starting chemo today, so she is just taking one day at a time. I feel really sad for her; she has a 17 year old son and her husband died earlier in the year. Sometimes things are just cra**y.

Looking for ways to up the income today. I do have some "proper work" to finish off. I have been trying to decide if ebay or amazon is a better deal for selling books. Was going to do a carboot on sunday but it is looking about as good as last week.

My monthly plan is still hanging over me. My lists just look a mess and I am trying to categorise everything so I can get what I want to achieve done. (a few frogs in there).

Today I will plod on with the last bit of my course. cd rom that came with the course and is the last section, but the narration has hiccups so it really doesn't help:rotfl:
My finances are work in progress.
    Normal veiwing will resume shortly
  • Afternoon everyone. Sun has started to shine but still cool, but hey, its sunny!

Just spent the morning making ds a cake for his birthday tomorrow. As the oven was on I decided to have a go at making a Christmas cake. Some of the dried fruit had been in the cupboard a looooooong time, but I refreshed it with liquid and it seems ok. Having a coffee now it is in the oven and then have to do a shopping list. Envious of those AF orders, I keep looking but there is never anything on there I want/need to buy. Any tips or is it just a case of keep looking and one day I will be lucky?

Went to see the Machine Gun Preacher last night. In subject, violence and language it was quite horrific and intense, but also engrossing and a real eye opener about parts of the world I know little about.
Made me think once more about how lucky I am in my own life.

I'm the same. 3.5kg of chocolate blancmange is soooooo tempting but only I'd be eating it so perhaps my waistline is thanking me for staying away :rotfl:

  • I love looking at AF and imagining that one day, when I have a house with storage, I shall bulk buy the things I am definitely going to use. Until then, I have to look on jealously!! :D

Just realised how much I have to do at the weekend... and also remembered that its Bonfire night tomorrow, which means I will have three cats requiring lots of cuddles and reassurance... :( And I will need some too. I HATE fireworks.

Right ladies need to get back to the grindstone now... some boring, not very brain bending analysis to do I think, which might speed 4pm along a bit. Then home via supermarket, and then unpack groceries, clean the house a little (very little!) and then sit and knit until bed time. I have a lot of knitting to get through (baby blanket for a work colleague!) and I want to get two or three squares done this weekend, if I can! :) If anyone wants me, I shall be in the corner, with three cats, and lots of balls of wool. What could possible go wrong!! :D

    Have a lovely weekend!!

I must admit that uhmmed and aahed with AF - there was one offer on there last week (or the week before) for about 7.5kg of Foxes Biscuits for £2.99 trouble is I love biscuits and they would not have lasted long:o

Suppose I had better go and have some lunch as I have to be at jobcentre at 2pm..sigh. I will glad of the peace & quiet because the lads upstairs must be stoned because it sounds as though they are killing each other with their yells and screams...mind you if they don't shut up I will go and finish them off myself:mad:

I so agree that TGIF!!! I have seriously lost my vava voom (if I ever had it).

I have completed two case studies out of ten and the second went better than the first. I am not able to finish them before next session thou.

If anyone is doing any distance healing could you throw some towards my head please? I promise to meditate tonight for at least 15 minutes, that might do the trick (something that coctail of pills prescribed and non haven't been able to do).

I'm feeling a bit down today too. Perhaps it's all these autumn showers. I'm a bit behind with work, it's all stacking up. Also I have IBS which has made me have pain and feel under the weather for a while. I am quite bored of it all, I just want to feel healthy (although I know I am so lucky not to have anything more serious). I did some research and found a diet I think might work, so I am going to be low fat, dairy and red-meat free. Vegetables and fruits I have to puree, or cook and chop them before eating. Restrictive as it sounds, it's not as extreme as one of the diets I have considered. It is difficult because I derive a huge amount of pleasure from food, but I am so bored of feeling unwell I would happily give up all those things right now.

There's so much DIY and so many chores still to do. But I am making some progress. My main problem is that everything takes 5 or 6 times longer than I expect. I think I need to sort that out. I have got this Springboard personal development course starting soon, so that will be quite interesting. i hope it will be a confidence boost.

The other bad thing is that around 3 of my best friends have left London. Another one is so busy with her own business, I am lucky to see her every few months. I miss them! I am just feeling a bit lonely really, I guess. I have got some friendships through volunteering and other groups, but they are usually in that context and not hanging out on the weekend.

Sorry to be an old moaner!! I am sure things will get better with time, as they always seem to do.

Sorry you're feeling rough Lara and Marru :( (incidentally, Mr Daffs was told he had IBS years ago, refused medication and just eats sensibly - never ate meat anyway, but very few biscuits, not much fat etc, and he's mostly fine. Good luck!)

I'm feeling glum and sorry for myself too today :o Only achievements of the day so far have been a very slow and achey 30 minute run (beautiful with mist rising from the valley though and the autumn leaves), meeting a friend for a cuppa, and eating an entire bag of chocolate raisins all to myself :o

All very well, but there's not much in the way of actual *work* in there!

Need to start my day over again I think! :T :T Going to set the timer, go and make a cup of tea, and I'm reading back over the old make do and mend thread :T so a page or two of that while I drink my tea.

Then I'll set the timer for 15 mins again and concentrate on work. If that's all I do today, then it'll be an achievement I tell you :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I'm writing, Ive got a plan and even a mind map, but it's not flowing, it doesn't feel right, and I can't work out whether it's because my plan's in the wrong order or whether I'm just starting to get a cold and feeling sorry for myself :o :rotfl:

Right. Timer. Tea. Who's with me? :coffee:
