Sending out positive vibes to all those who are feeling a bit low or unwell. I am on day 5 of a virusy thing and am starting to feel a tad fed-up with it. Very little energy, so far too much time spent sleeping and on t'internet. When up for it, I have been (shut your eyes Firewalker) knitting - a lovely deep red, chunky scarfette. I need to find a knitted flower pattern, failing that I should use this opportunity to teach myself how to crochet - now that would be interesting as I don't do patience :rotfl:.0

Marru have just spent the last 5 mins lying on my bed sending you some healing vibes. Do let me know if they work. Funny really as my palms feel a bit.....well sort of tingly.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Marru - I am sending you some healing thoughts, in the meantime step away from the chocolate cake. I say that because chocolate gives you migraine. Drink plenty of water and eat avoiding food like chocolate, cheese, bananas and chocolate cake.
I have been feeling a tad depressed all day - I think it is the weather, so it is time to dust off my daylight lamp. Must admit that I am feeling a bit less depressed than I was this morning - greatly helped by a letter from the DWP saying that I have been awarded £67.50 a week JSA which means that I will have had a huge back payment:cool: I had a meeting with an advisor today and I am doing everything right, he gave me pointers on how to use the search function on the website and found 3 jobs for me to apply for (I have already applied for one of them). He has also pointed me in the direction of free advise at a weekly job clinic where I can do free courses and get my CV overhauled. He said that I am not on the scrap heap yet despite agencies in Birmingham telling me otherwise:D
I shall not spend the windfall all at once - it will give me some breathing space.0 -
People of the Matrix, having read all messages about flues, colds and feeling down I rememebred a conversation I had with a good friend of mine last night. It seems to me that we have all been sprinting for too long and it may be time to exhale and relax. I doubt we are feeling like this because of the weather (or only because of the weather).
Even if this were correct there is little we could do about it - the weather is as it is (being my big headed me I wish I could do something about the weather but...). We could do much about how we feel by loving ourselves more and looking after ourselves better (mainly psychological care).

Also I have IBS which has made me have pain and feel under the weather for a while.
Lara, I had IBS about 15 years ago. It is one of the things that medicine doesn't understand (a syndrom). Oftern it is some kind of alergy (or this is how it is manifested) - mine was gluten, milk and oats. Now I can eat gluten but no milk (cheese and yoghurt are fine) and absolutely no oats.
I heard from some very famous life scientists that they have found that a lot of it is a particular bacterium that live is the large intestine - hence very hard to treat. But an experimental pill was given to this guy's wife at a conference (in Egypt of all places): gueas what - she was the only person in history who went to Egypt with bad tummy and came back perfectly healthy rather than the other way around. Have not followed on the story of the medicine though.
Look after yourself and try to figure out what are you alergic/sensitive to. With me what also helped to get rid of it was running - stress buster you see.

I just wanted to tell you that my firend who spent over a week in intensive care with pneumonia (the one you joined me in sneding wishes for) is out of intensive care a recovering very fast. In fact, her partner sent me a message saying that the Doctors said it was like a miracle - they have not seen anyone recover so fast from such profound illness.
Thanks you! I can accept miracles!

Great news for your friend FW, I'm so pleased!
You're right about looking after ourselves
Strangely enough, I feel much better after setting the timer and cracking on with some stuff for 15 mins at a time - done a whole hour now, some work, some not, head still feels fuzzy but I don't feel as gloomy as I did! :T :T Off to do another hour.0 -

I was thinking the same as I read down the page. It is a problem, though, for those who are not choosing to sprint. Life does seem to go in surges of activity - though I'm not sure if the slow down occurs because of external triggers or because our bodies say enough.
I agree that the psychological care is important and I think a place such as this where anyone can have a wee rant or just express how they feel without the fear of judgement, is important.
It also works for me on another level. I realise that I am so lucky to be out the other end of a lot of the problems others have.
Sending hugs and positive vibes to you all and all the people you care about. But how can you know what you want till you get what you want and you see if you like it?0 -
Selling a house in the Autumn when surrounded by trees is :eek:, specially the back courtyard garden.... I spent this afternoon dealing with the front garden which is overlooked by a large silver birch which has almost finished shedding - all cleared up and now looks great, and have run out of energy to tackle the back. It is overhung by my neighbours' beech trees which have all shed their leaves in the past few days.... it really does look :eek:! So many leaves! Such deep drifts! No where to put them as my bin is full :rotfl::rotfl:
With working overtime at work this week and last, and not having much notice for this viewing, I rather suspect the leaves will be an issue. Ah well.
Autumn will soon be over and the leaves will be history - and hopefully not my problem by this time next year!If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

Bag up your leaves Groatie and offer them on freegle for composting.
I have caught myself this evening thinking about pizza - I looked at Dominoes and decided against it, and I looked at Pizza Hut and decided against them too..might just do a sandwich or something instead because I am trying to have an NSD today. Might get some french bread tomorrow or some ciabatta rolls and then I can cook mini pizzas in Mosky because I have a jar of passata in the store cupboard:D Lunch today was reheated oven chips from yesterday seeing as I did too many for dinner last night.
Off to look at AF to see what goodies they have - here's hoping the delivery fee isnt great.0
