Fingers crossed you can save on the energy bills MG ... If you're worried about it out the excess into your CU account each month rather than paying it off the mortgage until the cold weather is over.
Need to get up and get on with some tidying and cleaning ... So better get dressed and run a bath for my mum. My dad will be here at 12, and we have lots to do (not that she knows that yet...)0 -
Morning all! Thanks for all the support - you guys really are the greatest.
I wasn't as productive as I hoped to be yesterday, but I will be today. I am currently waiting for an Ebay buyer to come to collect a bulky item (money, profit - woo hoo - if only a tiny bit), and then I need to get listing the oodles of dresses in my wardrobe sat there doing nothing.
I also need a plan. Which will happen after my Ebay collection (am currently in the middle of if).
Now, breakfast melon here I come!0 -

AF is Approved Foods - if you google it you will go to a site that sells "short dated" foods. There's a lot on convenience type stuff but I tend to shop for "real" stuff. Beans, pulses, grains and canned or tinned foods to form the backbone to my meal plans.
I save about 80% on the food I buy from there so serious savings to be made if you get organised.
And welcome onboard Shower - we are mad but our hearts are in the right places.
Squirted around the bathroom, cleared the kitchen, fed the rabble, BM on, pressure cooker hissing, tatties done for dinner, yorkie mix in the fridge .................. now if I can just get the school uniform dried and ironed we will be onto a winner LOL

MG, I have been adding about your budget with racing heart. Feeling very proud of you! This such a change from even as little as eighteen months ago. Even better, you have guaranteed income for all your basics. Now...here comes the boot with two things:
1. Remember this income thing? You are going to grow it. Once the income strays growing you can play with proportions. The usual recommendation from ancient times is that of all earnings 70% is used to live on (including mortgage payments, food, heath, clothes etc.), 20% for fun and 10% savings. This chan be varied a bit but I would advise against going without fun for a long time. And I am admitting temporary defeat here - it looks like that at the moment paying your house off looks like a good way to save for the future (since there are not many other ways left).
2. Remember the planning thing? Plan you life from the future not from today? This budget is for today.
Have a good Sunday.

Guess what the Universe sent me today - the Project Manager from the pub next door ........... bear with me.
DS1, 2 and I were in the garden giving it a clear out - and looking for enough baby beetroot to make a beetroot tartin for Christmas goodies (I like golf ball sized for this so pick early).
So team MG were hard at work clearing square foot beds and sweeping up when he came through to see about replacing the fence that blew down in May's storms. So I let him through in to the neighbours garden.
He is going to send me over a couple of the labourers (on a quiet day) to clear the top part of my garden after DS1 said we didn't use it because he used to get sworn at by previous owner of pub. He has got some timber that is being ripped out and some old scaff boards so should be able to rustle me up some raised beds. Two guys and half a day should see it done.
So now (cheeky me) is gearing up to get the easy bits of the stud work done and then beg some help with the high bits (i the hope they may help me finish and plasterboard the bleeding thing.)
I think the tea and hob nobs could be a wise investment

sorry, I never introduced myself!
I already know some on this thread, so just started posting, sorry, excuse my bad manners!
I live on quite a few other threads, including 3Dogs diary, and know Firewalker and Marru's diaries. In fact it is through Firewalker's, I found out about the matrix and MG.
I PMd MG as a friend needs some hep and she suggested she join mse and post on this thread.
Got a text from her this morning, she got my text, but not had a chance to look at mse, etc.
so hopefully she will join soon, and find out how lovely and supportive msers are.0 -
