It is blowing a hoolie her tonight - a wheelie bin has just gone flying over the road.

I am recycling some bubble wrap that came in the AF order and rolling it up to stuff some "sausage dogs" for the front door and the living room door (they are directly opposite). Will find something to cover them tomorrow and make them pretty.

And have found a very lurid pink scratchy nylon blanket in the attic that will be perfect to interline my door curtain.

WE will get ready for winter yet ................... in the meantime I shall retire from my sofas to my cosy bed and read for a bit in the warm.

MG - I still have the old tights for you to stuff your draught excluders with but can't get to my address book due to the chaos in the house.

Save the AP bubble wrap for insulating the windows... I've done the back door and will do more when the chaos has subsided here.

Marru - have a great time - & if you've not left yet - I don't think you're allowed to take knitting needles on a plane as hand luggage.....

I managed to get through circular bamboo needles and my scarf is coming up nicely nobody said anything in the planes about them. We got stranded in Amsterdam  . I think I got 3 hours sleep last night so better go and crash...

It looks like Autumn has finally arrived up here. It has been pelting all night and the weather report says it's unlikely to improve.

So this morning I had a wander around my house checking where the drafts are - so I have a list of project to tackle this week.

But today shall be brought to you by the "Tidying up Fairy" as I have a playgroup meeting here tomorrow evening and the place is covered in threads.

But the god news is DS2 looks really cute cuddled up on the colourful sofas in his jammies.

Feeling rather sh*tty today, just had the guy ring me who I had business cards from (I swear I will never recommend him to anyone or utilise his services ever again:mad:), he was quite vile and demanded that I pay him £384 by Christmas - mind you he has only just acknowledged that I sent him £20 in August (the month I did without food). He refuses to accept £1 as advised by CCCS and basically called me a thief. He has left me feeling rather tearful today, I have to send him my details again together with a payment plan that I must stick to and it mustn't be £1 because he won't accept that. Not sure what to do really other than sell my watch or go and stand on a street corner:( When I go to the solicitors (see below) I shall pop my head in the jewellers to see if they would be interested in buying my watch - I have the certificates for it and the lovely leather box. The watch was bought with compensation money and is my dream watch - it never leaves my wrist.

In other news I have a look around a solicitors office today because I had heard that they had a cleaners job going, it would mean working 3hrs a week for £20 - fingers crossed I get it (must remember to take references with me). Basically, I would be titivating the offices (bet the filter won't allow me to say t*t) with a duster, cleaning 3 toilets and the kitchen and vaccing.

They usually email you to tell you everything has been packed and to give you an estimated day of delivery.

Then the courier company text's you that day before with an hour-long time slot that you can accept or request another. Mine are pretty good at being there on time.
